4.0 out of 5 stars A wild guitarist gets remastered.
What can you say about Jeff Healey? He's a wild man, is what. What a furious style of playing he has. I am reminded of the compassionate playing of Stevie Ray Vaughn when I hear him and indeed, the back cover states that SRV predicted that Jeff Healey would "revolutionize the way the guitar can be played." Boy is he right. But he's not only wild. Included...

2.0 out of 5 stars Skip This One
The last time I listened to Jeff Healey on record it was See The Light on vinyl. When I listened to this CD, I was disappointed, especially as the first four tracks are from See The Light. The sound quality on this "re-mastered" CD could be much better. Arista/BMG has failed to improve on the original recording. Jeff's vocals are too low in the mix, with too much reverb...

I had been looking forward to this one. I'm going to try listening to See The Light on CD. Or maybe I'll go back to the vinyl. . .

I am reminded of the compassionate playing of Stevie Ray Vaughn when I hear him and indeed, the back cover states that SRV predicted that Jeff Healey would "revolutionize the way the guitar can be played." Boy is he right. But he's not only wild. Included are "Angel Eyes" and "Lost in Your Eyes" which are two softer numbers that are both amazing and touching. "See the Light" establishes his wild style and is amazing to listen to. "Communication Breakdown" is a great cover of the classic Led Zeppelin song and has great harmonica playing in place of singing. This is an excellent album and makes a great introduction to an awesome musician. Buy it and be amazed!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not All Of His Best, December 12, 1999
This review is from: Arista Heritage (Audio CD)
This is a hit & miss collection of Healey's "best." Includes essentials like "Confidence Man" & "See the Light", but also includes filler such as "Angel Eyes" & "Lost in Your Eyes." Healey was at his "best" when he was playing all-out blues-rockers, not ballads. By the way, where is "I Think I Love You Too Much"?

Jeff Healey,in my opinion is one of the most underrated guitarist/performers ever...his work is just great! His version of George Harrison/The Bealtes' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is one of the best interpetations of a Beatles classics ever...even Harrison himself performs acoustic guitar and backup vocals on the track! A great collection of Healeys music!!!

I've been collecting music since I was 6 years old from 8-track to vynil to compact cassette to CD and now audio DVD. I first saw Jeff played in the movie Roadhouse. I can say Jeff is an exceptional guitar player with his crisp and clean guitar riffs and licks. I would strongly recommend you guys out there who likes to spend time on the road to get this Master Hits album that holds Jeff's masterpieces. There's never gonna be a boring trip once you start playing Jeff's CD on your blaster.

If you're looking for your first Pink Floyd CD, you'll probably love this one. It serves as a great "greatest hits" collection. If, however, you're a diehard fan who already has their other major albums, there's nothing new for you here.
