I purchased the GE Profile series complete set for my new home: Fridge, Range, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washer, and Dryer. I figured since I was buying the higher end appliances i thought I'd be safe and get quality products .... wrong!!! I has been 1 year and 2 months since i purchased and have had the following issues:

1. Microwave had to be replaced: after six visits by the repair man and replacing what appeared to be ever part. The original problem was the range lights stopped working.

2. Dishwasher serviced twice. First service because smart dispense system had a leak that dripped water on to my hardwood floors. The second was from some of the control panel buttons stopped working.

3. The day after xmas the fridge has decided to stop cooling. Tempurature at 60 in both the fidge and freezer. To top it off, the repair man cant make it out till Wednesday to look at ... nice.

How is it that half of the applicances i have purchased have failed at least 1 time in just over a year of use .... never again will I purchase GE products. My friend purchased all new appliances at the same time as me, except he purchased all LG, he hasnt had 1 problem or complaint yet. To top it off ... he bought all his appliances new on ebay!!!! go figure.

My only saving grace is a purchased the 5 year extended warranty on all my appliances, at least there will be no out of pocket expenses (other then spoiled food) to get this junk serviced. Just make sure you review your service contract, they actually missed a couple of my appliances on the contract even though i did pay for it.

I fully expect to have some type of issue with the Washer and/or Dryer next.

Bought this dishwasher at the Great Indoors as a closeout and it is the best cleaning with the best rack design and the quietest of any dishwasher I have ever owned (or installed). I have owned and installed all major brands. The last was a high end Kitchenaid that cleaned well but was always breaking down. The racks on this GE slide effortlessly and are easily adjustable. The 45 oz automatic soap dispenser is great. But the best feature is the extra fan which runs for up to 90 minutes after the cycle is complete. We use to set our plastic utensils and glasses on a towel to dry but this feature removes 99% of the water that always seems to stay on top of plastic dishes. I highly recommend this dishwasher but shop around for the best price. Sounds like the previous reviewer may not have installed the dishwasher incorrectly as proper installation especially of the drain line is key to cleaning performance of any dishwasher.

This DW is quieter than my fridge. But is worse at cleaning dishes than the other 2 dishwashers I've had. Tried running water in sink so the DW water is hot, changed cleaner, settings. But still not the best. But on the plus side it's pritty and quiet.
