Fantastic adventure!,
By
This review is from: Ark Code (Paperback)
Ark Code is one of the better Bible Code books out there. Roffman is a good writer and the book is kept interesting by not only presenting interesting codes and even encoded maps in the Torah, but the book is also memoir of his adventures to Israel and Egypt. He also goes into some philosophy behind the codes, who wrote it, etc, as well as information about searching for codes yourself.
The whole idea of maps in the Torah is interesting. Roffman put alot on the line to take the trip he did and really is interested in uncovering the truth about the codes by ACTING upon information he finds. I was actually a student at the school he left to go on his journey. He is dedicated to this. He doesn't just present codes, he backs up what he finds in the codes with historical evidence which gives much credibility to his information. Is the Ark there? Time will tell. This book is a breath of fresh air in the mounds of garbage websites and books that are out there on the subject.

Take the Next Step!,
By Nevin L. Fidler (Citrus Heights, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ark Code (Paperback)
Webster defines the word controversy as "a discussion marked especially by the expression of opposing views." This definition is the very core of all writings pertaining to the theory of the Bible Code and could list the phrase "Bible Code" as a major synonym for controversy. Experts in the Jewish religion, mathamatics, computer programing and combinations of these fields are constantly engaged in dueling theories and interpretations. This is to be expected since the theory of the existence of the Bible Code has the ability to effect the religious tenets of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths and alter how these faiths are practiced.Until the publication of Mr. Roffman's book; most of the written material surrounding the Bible Code has been centered around proving whether or not it exists, based upon the various mathamatical formulae utilized by the individual author, and whether or not similar results coud be found in other written volumes. With the introduction of Mr. Roffman's view that the Ark of the Covenant can be found, using clues based upon his interpretation of the Bible Code, there has been major discension within the Jewish Orthadox community based on religious grounds. The religious and academic furor surrounding his theory will continue on paper until an actual move is made to prove or disprove this theory and by interpolation, the existence of the Bible Code. As a non Jew, non mathamatician and basic comuter end user; I found Mr. Roffman's book very easy to read. His style is crisp and to the point and despite my lack of exterpise in matamatics and Judaism I was easilly able to follow his logic in these areas. What stands out in this book, when compared to other literature nd academic papers in this field, is that Mr. Roffman approaches his writing from a purely scientific view point that sometimes is contrary to his religion. He provides opposing theories and explainations and sticks to pure analytical thought as he leads the reader past these alternates and back to his interpretations. This is a refreshing change from previous authors whose personal agendas were easily discerned. The biggest difference between Mr. Roffmqn's writings and those of other experts in the Bible Code is that Mr. Roffman has a method of checking his findings. This method is simply to look for the Ark of the Covenant in the area that Mr. Roffman has documented as a possible resting place. Note that I said possible because Mr. Roffman allows for the fact that his search may not be productive. It is time to take the next logical step in authenticating the Bible Code and fund an expedition to attempt to locate the Ark. This may be another step in unravelling the mysteries of the Code or it maybe the Rosetta Stone. Nothing in this review should be taken as demeaning the work of the scholars who have been actively engaged in this controversy or the sincere religious beliefs of those who are for or against seeking the Ark. What this non mathamatican, non Jew and compuer end user observes is that there is now a chance to move this study from paper to field work and the chance must be taken. The collateral knowledge and international cooperation that would be gained from such an expedition would be worth the funding requirements and a step would be taken towards resolution of the controversy surrounding the Bible Code. The Chinese say that the longest journey must begin with the first step. To work towards solution of the Bible Code controversy it is time to TAKE THE NEXT STEP! We need an expedition to look for the Ark and get out of the academic paper world.

Barry Roffman's Ark Code is highly readable and humourous. The research Roffman presents is well grounded and handled in an honest manner. A thought-provoking and great read for anyone interested in the Bible Code or the search for the Ark of the Covenant.

Outstanding Research and Follow Through,
By Steve Handrop (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ark Code (Paperback)
Barry's book goes beyond the other Bible Code books and introduces the critical mapping references. I like the way he kept to the scientific method, even under conflicting pressures from many sources, including his own. I just wish I had the time and the archeological training, to go with him on his next expedition! This book was easy to read and I did not put it down until I finished. I can't wait for his next book or better yet, his actual discovery of either the duplicate or the real Ark.

Unique View of the Codes,
By Robert E McCoy (Greenfield IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ark Code (Paperback)
I found this book to be insightful into the world of bible/torah codes. Barry Roffman Is a controversial person and his views are interesting and worth considering. He is the only person to date to claim discovery of a mapping system (like a road map) in the codes. He backs it up with the math and is very open with his logic. One thing that is a bit out there is that he proposes his work to be a litmus test for the existence of the codes...thus if his conclusions are not proven then he might just be throwing out the baby with the bath water... All in all it is well thought out and worth a read to any code seeker.I do not agree with his points of view as I find the codes to be more unique to a persons search for truth and faith than he allows in his arguments. This having been said I am open to all seekers of God's will, I just wish he were a bit more committed to his faith than to his science. Discussions with this author can be heard on free audio at http://biblecodenews.com for those that may need to hear a bit more to get off the fence.

Ark Code Informative & Personal - a good read!,
By
This review is from: Ark Code (Paperback)
The Ark Code is a compelling account of Barry Roffman's journey to find the hidden location of the Ark of the Covenant. He provides the reader with not just a detailed anecdotal of his journey across the sea and across continents, but also his own personal perspective of the meaning of this journey that he takes with his family. I found the book a good read and one incredibly full of insight into the divine elements of the codes of the Torah. He spells out clearly what he's doing and how he's trying to find the answers through the codes. What is very compelling about the book is Roffman's honesty in revealing that perhaps the codes aren't going to do what he hopes they will. He corrects some false assumptions and provides the reader with a genuinely honest perspective on the nature of the Codes.

Excellent book!,
By Gabriel "Gabriel" (Washington D.C.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ark Code (Paperback)
Barry Roffman has done extensive research on the Ark and its possible location. His maps are easy to read for the beginner, and detailed enough for the more professional. His research into the Ark is the same way, as it is easy to read for those who know little on the subject, and full of information for those others who have studied the Ark in the Torah, or the Bible. The author is enthusiastic about his subject yet sticks to a scientific approach when makeing his points. He lets the facts speak for themselves and does not try to make facts fit a theory. This is a very good book, highly reccomended
