The author spent a lot of time measuring waterfalls, mapping out driving and hiking directions, creating maps, providing GPS coordinates, stating the difficultness of the hike, and provided some other attracttions near each waterfall. He also listed which falls were 'kid friendly' (i.e. low risk for injury - kids and cliffs aren't always a good combo). Very professionally done. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

There were beautiful pictures of every waterfall.
In regards to the indecent shorts comment by one reviewer - yes he was in most the pictures and the shorts were from the late 80's, but not indecent. In regards to the Naked comment - FuzzyButt Falls was probably the highlight of the book. You'd have to see the picture to understand - hiliarious and tastefully done (distant and blurred). I had no problem showing my 8 year old this, and I'm kind of prude about this stuff normally.

Best Waterfall book I've seen so far.

I have to say to start off the the 2 star review just ignore it... This guy put countless hours into this book & if he wants to express himself a little who are we to stop him after all he did blur himself on the Fuzzy Butt Falls pic! LOL

This book has GREAT pics of 100+ waterfalls in the Natural State and pretty good tips on how to get to them. After only being to about a handful of them I have to say that this book was worth the money I paid for it! I have had some great memories walking & driving to these falls. If you just want to get away for a day while near the Buffalo or Quachita area grab the book PLENTY of water LOTS of time and ready for a new adventure.... OH, & dont forget your digital camera, and a water proof one wouldn't be a bad idea. The point is $22 for a life time of memories is not a bad prize!

Good book. Lots of great info. Everything the description says it is. :)

Each waterfall has stats, directions, GPS coords, and a photo to go with it.

No clue what the other reviewer is saying about indecent shorts. Looks pretty normal to me.

Recommended if you are going to Arkansas to track down waterfalls!

I've owned this book for a little over a year now, and visited about 20 of the over 200 waterfalls described within. This was one of the best purchases I ever made. Mr. Ernst does an excellent job showing each waterfall at its best via the countless color photos, and his description of how to get to each waterfall is accurate and detailed. If you love adventuring and getting to some scenic, out of the way spots in Arkansas, you can't go wrong with the purchase of this book. My goal is to get to all of the waterfalls someday, but I feel that may be more of a lifetime goal. There are just too many!

Surprisingly wonderful. I expected descriptions with a few b/w photos for selected waterfalls. Instead, there are beautiful full color photos of more than 200 waterfalls (second edition) by noted nature photographer Tim Ernst. Each waterfall has a description, maps of roads and hiking trails, trail difficulty ratings, notes about nearby features, GPS coordinates, UTM coordinates, and even notes for “kid-friendly” waterfalls and whether you can see the waterfall from your car. If you’re a devoted Arkansas visitor, keep this book in your car at all times. If you’re more of an armchair traveler like me, “Arkansas Waterfalls” is a delight.

If you want to go on great hikes, and find pretty waterfalls, you've got to trust Tim. He's done it all, and his directions, coordinates are important to find some great views. I had tried to find one waterfall in particular, but couldn't figure it out until I got the book because the internet was NO HELP, it doesn't know everything. :)
