Better than expected!,

Simple easy-flowing read. I enjoyed it.Granted this story was written later 70's/early 80's when the Sci-Fi fashion dictated different terms. But it does shell-out a very good adventure yarn, set in what-used-to-be the future--1995. There's a large object approaching Earth. Three outcasts are summoned to investigate. The spirited trio find a battleship called ARMADA that stretches miles wide. In short order, the ARMADA makes its alien intentions quite clear...conquest.

I still have this book today (albeit a bit tattered and with yellow pages). I pull it out every couple of years for a quick read. My kids read it and loved it. Would love to see a movie adaption done.

I first read this book a long time ago, and I read it many times since then. The story is pretty dated these days, but the plot was a good one and for an sci-fi based adventure novel its very good.

It was well written and laid out, depicting a tale that spans many lifetimes. Way ahead of it's time for space drama, worthey of scruteny.

It is a miracle that I ever read again.Zero stars. Are there negative stars? The main character's name is Captain Broadsword. Need I say more? |
