4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but Sounds Like a Conspiracy Theory in Places, January 2, 2001
Jeffery has updated his 1990 book and re-released it. There isn't a whole lot of new information, but it's still good stuff. He talks about prophecies and ideas that no one even touches (i.e., the Magog/Israli war and the Second Exodus), but parts of it sound like a conspiracy theory novel (the location and return of the Ark of the Covenant). Still, on the whole, not a bad read and really informative.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Detailed Look at the End Times by Grant Jeffrey, January 2, 2010
I read the original and updated versions of this book, and although there is not a whole lot of "new" information in the latest edition, this is one I recommend, simply because it reads better than the first edition.

The book's premise is that the world is inexorably leading to the final conflict called "Amageddon" (in Israel). Bible Scholar Grant Jeffrey sets the stage for the reader by laying a foundation for his premise, which begins with the Book of Daniel and his prophecy of the 70 weeks. Jeffrey interprets this prophecy to show how God has predicted to the exact day, both the crucifixion of Christ, and using a related prophecy in Jeremiah, the establishment of the nation of Israel (May 15, 1948).

Jeffrey then goes on to document the unique and dramatic events that have occured on Jewish Feast Days (i.e. Passover, Trumpets, Tabernacles, etc.) He uses this information to show how God has specifically orchestrated events to occur on specific days, showing his divine providence. His explanation of how the feasts of Israel specifically relate to the life of Christ is quite enlightening. I learned so much from this chapter alone. He explains how Christ fulfilled the first 4 feasts with his first Advent, and how he will likewise fulfill the last three feasts in his coming second Advent. Each of the feasts represent a "rehearsal" for mankind to worship the Christ and his interactions with mankind.

Another chapter deals with the prophecy of Ezekiel 37-38, and is examined in relation to a future Russian-Arab invasion of Israel, in which the Lord will supernaturally intervene to save the nation of Israel. Jeffrey explains how the third temple and the Ark of the Covenant might be related to the Russian invasion of Israel. He details the "lost" Ark of the Covenant, and where it may reside today.

Finally, in the closing several chapters, Jeffrey examines the many prophecies that predict the events that lead up to the final battle of Armageddon, and the second coming of Christ.

The book is a detailed read. It is not a book one can casually read and absorb. No, rather, this is a detailed Bible study in which one needs one's Bible at hand to examine the actual passages Jeffrey cites. Jeffrey shows how different prophecies link together to give a clearer picture of the Great Tribulation and the events that lead up the Second Coming of Christ and the millenial reign that follows.

Jeffrey's academic credentials are as follows: (taken directly from Wikepedia) "Grant Jeffrey earned a "Chartered Life Underwriter Certification" from the University of Toronto's Extension Program. He later received his Master's Degree and Ph.D., in Biblical Studies, from Louisiana Baptist University. The university holds no secular academic accreditations, though the school has a number of accreditations from groups which accredit Christian schools. He has also done post-doctoral research in Apologetics and Theology, at Oxford University."

While this book represents a rather detailed study of Bible prophecy, it can certainly be understood by the serious beginner as well as the seasosned Bible student. Perhaps one interested in this book would be better served by first reading the following books: Are We Living in the End Times?, The Late Great Planet EarthSeven Signs of the End Times (End Times Answers)

5.0 out of 5 stars Armegeddon, December 14, 2008
This book is excellent and informative. Grant Jefferey does a tremendous amount of research and does not embelish the facts. I highly Recommend any of his work.
