5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Both Worlds
Do you like rap? Do you like heavy metal? If so this album is for you. This is the best of both worlds. These guys actually know how to rap, their not Kid Rock, trying to rap. They actually have something to say. Their is a song for everyone here, all the bases are covered from partying to political, and even current events and their take on the world. If you want to...

3.0 out of 5 stars talented, but a little bit cheesy
While Bionic clearly shows some musical talent, I found the rhymes on some of their songs amateurish. If you can handle hit-or-miss lyrics and religious themes to several songs it's worth listening to, otherwise take a pass.

If you want to hear some microphone skills and stay real and heavy, then Bionic Jive is the way to go. And when I say the best of both worlds I mean it, because this is some of the most raw, heavy, crunchy, metal there is and they didn't forget the melody. If you're blood is not pumping after just a few minutes of this record then you may need to go see a doctor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Metal, October 22, 2001
I think this CD is absolutely amazing! Bionic Jive is one of the most hard metal bands I have heard in awhile. I first heard of these guys from my friend, and I picked up their CD just today and from just one listen of the CD i was hooked. I highly recommend this CD to any metalhead, you won't be dissapointed.

A lyrical and musical masterpiece from a mouthful of hand grenades and a thundering concussion of beat.

It's a Bionic Jive!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best rapcore bands out there, July 7, 2004
This album is off the hook. When i first bought this album i was amazed, i havent heard anything like this before. If you combine the raps and flows of outkast or dr. dre and the rock stylings of deftones or korn you might get something like bionic jive. My favorite songs on this are pump and ricoshet. Pick this up right away.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for awhile, September 24, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I really enjoy rap-rock, but I usually don't stray towards bands that are heavier on the rap and less on the rock, such as Bionic Jive. But, with a band this good, I can always make an expection. If you like bands like "stuck mojo" (less on the rap) or rage against the machine (pretty balanced), then you will like these guys . . . hopefully. The only reason they don't get a 5 out of 5 is the replay value is not so good. They come on strong, give the "I want to put it on replay" feeling for a few plays and then just go away to never be put in the cd player or cued up on the mp3 player again. Maybe some day they will make it up to bat on a random play and won't be skipped, I still they the songs are good, but just over played after a few plays.

5.0 out of 5 stars Re-sets the bar for rock-rap bands, October 20, 2006
By
I have not really got the hang of rock/rap bands before except for Hed (PE) who are great - but stuff like LP, LB, POD etc just never quite did enough for me: some good songs among them but never enough to completely take me in - but I am a big fan of Rock bands - stuff like Sevendust - and late 80's/early 90's rap - PE, Ice cube... but the stuff in the middle just wasn't authentic enough.

This band works really well as a mix between the two that is more true to the two original poles rather than being a hybrid - the music is really good - they are really rocking out on it in tracks and it's worthy of a lot of good rock bands.

And the vocalists are great also - one of them takes a similar sound to Ice Cube at his best in some spots, the other is good also and they are really good at it rather than being only half way the real deal.

What it means is a really good record - it's lively and powerful but feels like it is meant to be - rather than somewhat contrived. Only Hed PE for me is a better effort and this is close to it - brilliant stuff. Might be more suitable for fans of that harder style rap of the early 90's than for rock fans as that is so strong but it's great music.

Songs I would suggest to have a listen are 'I shot Lucifer' and 'Break the Chains' - but the entire first half of the album is terrific.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, December 16, 2003
By A Customer
This cd is an awesome combination of rap and rock. I have seen reviews recently that compare it to limp bizkit and linkin park. It is nowhere near either of them. The emotions that this band has in their music is unbelievable, and it is more rap than both limp bizkit and linkin park combined. This cd is real good, I recommend it to anyone looking for a true mix of rap and rock.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good., August 14, 2003

I hate to do it, but I must mention Linkin Park in this review. Imagine, if you will, a line where rap and rock come together in perfect harmony. On one side, with deeper shades of rock, is Linkin Park, and on the other side, closer to "gangsta rap", is Bionic Jive. Each band comes really close to the line, but neither of them is completely perfect, and that's ok. I would give Bionic Jive a new genre name: "Ghetto Metal". Hard stuff, and good for driving down the road blaring. Check it out, it's not really that bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS GROUP WAS ROBBED!, June 6, 2003

Now I've been a Bionic fan since the album hit the stores. And let me say this beginning to end this CD is awesome. The most original mix of Rap and Metal ever... and I mean ever! I own Ako Mack's first CD and that's just as good a few of these songs are acctualy remakes of the originals. Worth every penny of your money. It's a shame though how Interscope managed to [ruin] they're whole album promotion. I hope the best for Bionic Jive and that they find sucsess and avoid the mainstream.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING, March 30, 2003
I recently heard a song of theirs on the radio, Pump, and it's insane. I bought their CD the next day. This is exactly the type of music that really gets you pumped up. It has the music backround of a Heavy Metal rock band, and the Lead singer is an amazing MC. If you enjoy great Rap or Hard Rock, you will love this band. Just listen to some of the samples that Amazon provides and you'll see what i mean. Now i have to say that Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands, but to compare the two... Well it's completly different. If you're a fan of Linkin park, you would probably like Bionic Jive, but if you don't listen to Linkin park because you think they're too soft, then this is most definatly a CD for you. These guys are the best at what they do, check 'em out and you can thank me later.
