I have been looking for this arrangement of Perry's Trumpet Concerto for years. The original CD has been out of print for quite a while, and I could only hear it by requesting it on WNED-FM Classical Radio from time to time. After my most recent request, I searched again and found this trumpet compilation. A bonus; it includes two other trumpet pieces by William Perry, as well as number of other infrequently heard concertos. Thank heavens its a CD and not vinyl, or I would be half-way to having worn it out already!

An absolute treasure of a recording by one of the true masters of classical trumpet playing. Brilliant playing and conducting, a joy to listen to as Ghitalla plays a number of different trumpets (Bb, C, Piccolo, etc.) demonstrating total mastery of each genre. Buy it, you'll love it! (If nothing else, Ghitalla's caricatures are worth the price of the CD!)
