Book Description

All Lexi wants to do is get through the day at her boring temp job with Green Hand Insurance. That’s until she discovers the vice president, Martin Dean, in a pool of blood and herself at the center of an investigation into insurance fraud.

Millions of dollars are missing, the chief suspect is dead and her mysterious, sexy, new boss is not what he seems.

Recruited by the joint task force working on the case, all Lexi has to do is work out who killed Dean and where the missing millions are. That’s easier said than done when her sister insists upon the baby shower to end all baby showers, her wise-ass cop family just wants to keep her safe, someone keeps leaving her creepy gifts, and all the clues point to a seedy sex club on the wrong side of town.

As the bodies start to pile up, Lexi is on a race against time to find the killer and the money, before she’s the next one in the murderer’s sights.

Also in the Lexi Graves Mysteries:
Who Glares Wins (book 2)
Command Indecision (book 3)

5.0 out of 5 stars buying the next one that comes out May 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you like mystery/romance/humor...this book is totally for you. Writer's style reminds me a lot of Kate Johnson's Sophia Green series, but has it's own uniqueness too.

The mystery side of it was well written, and though I figured out most of the 'who done it' seeing the why of it was great and complex.

The romance is weaved into the humor of the book as Lexi deals with two guys, a family of cops, and a funny best friend. I love that Lexi is a main female character who is smart and goes her own way but with faults. I spent so much of the book laughing at her reactions to things, but enjoying the great suspense the author creates.

I greatly enjoy this kind of book, and definitely will buy the second one in the series when released (this one I got free on kindle).

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!! May 24, 2012

I can't believe how good this book was. I love mysteries and this one was so much fun to read. I accidentally stumbled across this author on amazon a couple of days ago & I'm back to find more of her books. I saw a review that refers to similarities with the Stephanie Plum books.... Maybe... But this book was MUCH better!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Zany and hilarious mystery....loved it!!! May 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I just finished reading the most entertaining mystery titled Armed & Fabulous: Lexi Graves Mysteries 1 by the talented Camilla Chafer. I loved it!!! Lexi is the type of heroine that most of us secretly fantasize about everyday woman who seems to end up in very dangerous situations...and manages to come out on top...with two very sexy males to keep her hopping...a sidekick named Lily that is a story unto herself (hint hint to author)....all I can say is buy this book...and settle in for lots of laughs, suspense, a fine whodunit...and just overall fun. I highly recommend this to lovers of mystery, laughter and sexy fun. Kudos to the author for a great book. I hear the second in the series is due out in June 2012 titled Who Glares Wins....can't wait to buy my copy and get me some more of Lexi mayhem.

3.0 out of 5 stars Plum good March 1, 2013

If you like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, you will probably like this series. Armed and Fabulous is about insurance fraud, an undercover investigation, two beautiful best friends and two super hot detectives. Add in a little humor, lots of murder, and some suspense. While I liked the book, I am going to pass on the rest of the series. It is just too much like Plum, Morrelli, and Ranger. (Go team Ranger!)

2.0 out of 5 stars Disarmed and Flat July 28, 2012
By I.A.
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Not sure how this book has received nothing but 4 and 5 star ratings--the writing is stale. I don't think this is a "spoiler," because if occurs in the second chapter. That said, immediately after Lexi finds the corpse, she's whisked into a closet by a stranger. She behaves nothing like a person who has just found her boss's dead body:
(Stranger)--"If they find us, we're dead." (Lexi)--Okay. "So here's the good news...I contemplated licking the (stanger's) hand (which was over her mouth) because that always made my brothers and sister let go when we were kids, but that was too gross to do to a stranger..."(Stranger)--"If you scream, they'll shoot us in the head, and you're far too pretty to die." (Lexi)--Well, I had to agree to that. I really was too pretty to die."
I get the whole wise-cracking, take-no-prisoners heroine shtick. But this is just inept, out of place, dialogue. If you like ditzy, funny, and unpredictable, there are better authors (KB). There's tongue-in-cheek funny, and then there's fart-in-a church funny; sadly, this writing is much closer to the latter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute, light, sassy and fun. March 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought this book was great. I read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews (there weren't many) and decided that they were expecting something the author wasn't advertising or offering.

This book is a light, fun romp through a young woman's life. Was Lexi (the main character) a little vain and silly? Yes. But that was the fun of it. We can all be a little vain and silly at times (and some of us wish we had time to be a bit more vain and the power to be a little more silly all of the time).

The mystery was fun, her family was fun, her friends were fun and yes even the little love triangle was fun. Has it been done before? Sure, because love triangles make great stories, but the author told it in a fun, unique way that kept me turning pages.

Sometimes, we aren't looking for Tolstoy or Hugo, sometimes we just want to read something that isn't going to tax our already tired brain and make us smile. Armed & Fabulous does the trick.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs to be 2 1/2 stars March 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While I liked the book and enjoyed the story line, it was clearly a direct copy of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum story line. So much so that I probably won't be reading anymore of the series. It's a little too close to the real thing for me. Sexy copy. Sexy mystery man who lives on the edge of legal/illegal even down to the black hair and quiet demeanor. Not only that, but I knew who was doing the killing half way through the book. Might be good for those who have never read a Stephanie Plum novel, just not for me. Thanks for trying though!

3.0 out of 5 stars Copycat March 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lexi Graves is no Stephanie Plum!! Not as well written and not as humorous either! An okay read - fast, no involvment - but too many similarities between the 2 to be coincidental. Klutzy personality, law enforcement boyfriend, sexy mystery man she goes to work for, etc. I really missed Stephanie's grandma!! Although Lexi's mother might be being groomed for that slot. Nah, won't pay to read another one. I'll save my money to read the real one.
