5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly recommended
A well researched volume, using original Armenian sources, that also manages to have beautiful presentation. It's rare to find this combination. Thoroughly recommended, even if only for a browse, as a window on the personal names of such an evocative culture.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what it sems to be
The title of this book looks like a good book. But the decriptions of the names are wrong. The writers of the book are not Armenian so thy did not write a acurate book. The decriptions are WRONG. The book says some Armenian names comes from Hebrew and Persis which is not true, infact its the oposite. Dont buy this book it is a Propganda.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book to have around!, March 31, 2004
This review is from: Armenian First Names: By Nicholas Awde & Emanuela Losi (First Name Books from Hippocrene) (Hardcover)
It has a huge range of Armenian boys' and girls' names with explanations where they all come from. It's amazing how innternational we've always been! The design is beautiful too. We don't have kids yet, but it's a good book to have around!
