I looked at a lot of watches. But, in the end, this was the best quality and value for the money. Great watch!!!!!

Watch came on time I was satisfied discribtion was on point and watch is cheaper on amazon then sportsathority in maryland by a few bucks

We ordered the watch from Amazon after my son ruined the band on the one he had playing capture the flag with some of his friends. The one he had was the exact same one we ordered. The only thing I don't like about the watch (which seems to be a growing trend among watchmakers) is you can't replace the band. Well, you can but a new watch is cheaper than the replacement band. It is a very good value and keeps good time. My son is 19 and got the first watch when he was 17. We all know how hard teenage boys are on everything they own. The tumble down the hill didn't hurt the watch at all-just the band. We will buy another one just like this when the time comes again. The shipper was great-we got the watch 4 days earlier than they said we would. Overall, very happy!

I've been a big Armitron fan for years especially this model.
The 'features' I like about are the large number display easy for an old guy like me to see. Its waterproof, no worries when I do pool maintenance(Wait the skimmer basket has fallen in and is sinking fast..let me take my watch off and then grab it).
Its shock proof whether its running the snowblower, grass mower, chain saw or pressure washer I don't have to worry about it shaking apart.
I've had watches just die because of all I do..I've never had any of that.
The backlight is great....
The band is tough rubbery like material..that seems to last forever...
All for under $20.00.

I have a hard time keeping a watch that runs because of my high bodily static discharge. This watch while being extremely inexpensive works great on me and keeps excellent time. It has many features including a built in light for night time viewing. It also works great while swimming. I would recommend this watch to anyone who wants a quality item at an inexpensive price. The only drawback is that the band is easily broken. I know this because this is my second watch of this type. On the first one, the band broke at one of the hinge points 8 months after I bought it.

This is a watch that does it all.
Large numbers, perfect accurate time, comfortable to wear,
battery lasts and lasts. Eventually, the band will break and it is not
replaceable. You are left with a perfect timepiece that you can
not wear. That's why I bought 2 more while I could find them.

I am the kind of person that ALWAYS has a watch on. So, when I was driving from Florida to Tennessee for a two-week vacation in the mountains, and the watch I had on broke, I stopped at the next Wal-Mart along the way to buy a replacement. I basically just wanted something cheap, water-resistant, comfortable, and sturdy enough to take a couple weeks of hiking and rafting. At less than $20, this watch seemed to fit the bill.

6 months later, and not only did the watch survive the trip, it's managed to survive to this day. Granted, I don't use this particular watch every single day, it is my standby for some of my more abusive activities. Surfing on the east coast, snorkeling in the keys, BMX and skateboarding, indoor rock climbing, and so on. I use this watch because it was cheap enough that I don't care if it does break. It simply refuses to break!

It's not all sunshine and happiness though. The band, while comfy enough, is fairly rigid. This causes the end to pop out of the retainer often. The watch hasn't fallen off as a result, but it's a minor nuisance. The watch also looks kinda cheap. This may not matter, but it really does scream "I cost less than $25" to on-lookers. And finally, the crystal is slightly convex, which makes it susceptible to scratches. Mine already has a few decent ones that are easily visible.

So, to sum up. It's a good watch for something cheap. But don't expect it to impress anyone.

Great watch but somewhat hard to read for us older people. The black seperator bars block a clear view of the readout.

i had this watch as my first and only watch. ignore matts review because this watch is one th best watches in the whole world. my friend said that casio's g-shock is way better than this armitron, but i disagree. g-shocks are expensive, and only to break at the end of the day. but i had this watch for several months, and its the most best thing in the whole world. i would recomend this watch to everyone who wishes to buy it. remenber, if your friends say that g-shock is better, say this: g-shock is casio's, but armitron is the name of the company, and armitron is a class higher than casio. casio is the third. armitron is second. timex is third. so, if you want to buy between an armitron watch, or a casio g-shock, i would definetly buy this watch

I got this watch for about 40 dollars about 4 months ago, it worked fine untill recently the watch would only work when it was warm, i would take it off for the night and in the morning, it wouldn't work until I had worn it for about an hour or so, even then I would have to reset it, that defeats the purpose of having a watch!

UPDATE: I opened up the watch and messed around somewhat and it is now working fine. There might have been water inside and opening it evaporated it. After this occurrance I have bumped up the rating from 1 star to 3.

UPDATE 2: While hiking I hit the band on a tree pretty hard and the pin came out of the buckle enclosure, it is now unwearable and I think that it has done it's 40 dollars worth. Overall a decent budget watch.
