I adore this watch. I've never been able to find another that met my needs as well. It's tiny to fit my smaller wrist, not too flashy or bulky, simple functions with no frills I'll never use, a wrist band that doesn't break down like cloth or leathers (but LOOKS like leather!), a light, waterproof, and inexpensive.

I've owned this watch for over 5 yrs now and never, ever had an issue. No broken bands or clasp, no functions gone crazy. I expected the battery to die after a yr, but it's been so long I don't even remember the date I bought it. When the battery did finally give it up, I bought a replacement (CR 1220) and easily replaced it myself with a mini screwdriver (not that you should do this if you have somewhere to take it, but it IS possible!). It worked just as before. I'd hazard a guess that if you got a watch not functioning properly, then it's likely been in storage and needs the battery replaced. Armitron offers a limited warranty on it's watches otherwise.

I should mention the band is an added bonus. You'd think a plastic-like band would be terrible, but it's fantastic! It doesn't stick to, or put too much pressure on my skin, doesn't show signs of cracking (like leather), and everyone thinks it's leather. Friends have liked it so much I've bought it as a gift for others!

This is the second time that I'm purchasing this watch! It doesn't have all of the fancy things that other digital watches have (timers, etc) but it does its duty. 1) I like it because it is small and doesn't look large and clunky on my small wrist. 2) I also like that it is black without any extra crazy colors so I wear it to work and it doesn't look too sporty. 3( I am lazy and wear my watch 24 hours a day and it is nice that it is waterproof so that I can shower with it on (no problems). 4)I love the light in the middle of the night when my baby wakes up and I am able to see what time it is! Again, it isn't a runner's watch but it is a great time piece with quick and easy access to date and time, not too many buttons to worry about. And my favorite thing is the size!!! Small and delicate not huge and clunky--hard to find in a digital watch!

The watch is ok. The best I could find in a Digital I can wear Lap Swimming. I like the fact that it doesn't have a ton of Bells & Whistles that I don't use. Although I do miss not having the Day & Date information available without having to depress the Button. It's digital and water resistant for Lap Swims which were my two mandatory requirements. I still have to replace the Strap since the imitation one damages my skin. But at least I CAN replace it unlike the one I had before I found this one. I also like the fact that I'm not bumping the Buttons all the time and having unwanted reactions from the watch. At the same time, the Buttons are relatively easy to depress when I want to depress them! But I still miss my old Casio. They still make it in the Man's version. But that one's way to big for my 6" wrist! I'll probably buy another one once I kill this one. I'm hard on watches.

I personally would prefer a little more contrast between the numbers and the background on the LCD display when not using the Instalite feature, but otherwise it's a nice little watch for the price.

Keeps good time, easy to see, seems relatively durable. What more can you ask for?

Hello: I have had several Armitron digital watches over the past 5 years. The batteries will work for about a year then peter out which is to be expected, I guess. I bought new batteries, opened the back took out the old battery and put everything back as it was found but the watche(s) never ran properly after that. I took one to the watch counter at Walmart and they changed the battery for me but with the same result. Bottom line..... Expect to have to buy a new one of these every year. I keep returning to them though because as one of the other reviewers said, it's hard to find a small, un-clunky looking digital watch for women that's shock and water resistant. This particular model does not have an alarm either which is one feature I miss.

The battery only lasts about a year if you use the illumination feature to check the time when it is dark, and the battery compartment is very flimsy. I was not able to successfully change the battery without damaging it. Therefore, I cannot recommend this watch even though otherwise I liked it a great deal as it is a very versatile watch and not so clunky like most sports watches. I would not buy it again only because I prefer something where the battery is more serviceable.

This watch is very pretty for a women's digital. It is easy to set and the numbers are easy to see and the light makes it just perfect! However, when I received it yesterday, the date function worked but the time function did not. It kind of makes me wonder if this is the same watch that keeps getting shipped out to other customers....or if it truly is a bad design.....

I just got my Armitron Sports Watch. The package has no receipt or info on how to return if dissatisfied. What's worse, there are no operating instructions! And there's nothing I can find to help me on their website. Now I have to track someone down to see if I can get some help. Otherwise, I must send it back--provided I can find directions on how to do that. I'm really upset.

After owning four fancier sports watches in a row, all different styles, (two Nike, one adidas, one other brand, each $60-70) and watching each fail within six months due to either a strap problem or water damage (all supposedly highly water resistant), and having to pay at least $30 to fix the watch each time, or be told it couldn't be fixed...I gave up and bought this watch, which at $15 was the cheapest watch I could stand to buy. Granted, I'm not nice to my watches. I wear them every day and actually, you know, play sports in them. So I understood why the others failed and expected this one to do the same. Yet through it all, this has been by far the most durable watch. After over six months, the strap hasn't broken or come loose from the face. The glass is hardly scratched. The two (and there are two!) bands holding the loose strap end in place actually stay put, and haven't broken. Water hasn't found it's way in. The battery is still alive and kicking and the thing keeps accurate time (and date...which is more than my last watch could say after 3 months). It's easy to program, and it actually looks fairly nice for being so cheap.

Long story short, this watch is worth the money, and then some.
