I bought this watch as a Xmas gift for my husband, who has a large Star Trek watch collection. I was very disappointed to open the box to find that the plastic case had a huge crack in it, and the watch was loose inside the case. The watch appeared to have been worn already, having no protective plastic film on the face and scratches on the metal bracelet. A plastic tag appeared to have been cut off the watch band as well. It is an attractive watch, but was too tight on my husband's average-sized wrist. It was a very disappointing experience, and we returned the product.

I Was Given the Watch As a Xmas Gift, I Had it Fitted and Everything Was Great But Noticed the Numbers Around the Clock Face Where Not Chromed As Like in the Pictures Shown Which Actually Take Away From the Whole Watch Face. Very Disappointing. Also i was Also unhappy with the packaging as the watch was loose inside the box and the plastic casing was also cracked. Small Let Down but nothing bad as im going to be wearing the watch. But the Face of the Watch not being chrome with the numbers was a very sad let down. My Watch However had No Scratches on the Face and Everything was ok.

Recieved this watch in perfect condition,no cracked case and the watch looks just like the photo. The numbers are silver-faced. One reviewer said his numbers were not, he should return it.
I would not say this is an elegant watch, maybe it should only be worn around people who understand you are a trek-nerd. I am a trek-nerd and I don't care what anyone thinks. I bought it mainly for the limited production number and collectors value, but decided to wear it. It is hefty and does not seem cheaply made. Self winding is great. $160.00 seems a little pricy. I don't know if armitron watches are built to withstand the test of time. If it stops working I'll probably just put it back in it's case for display. I would say this is a must have for any star trek fan, old or new. Even if you don't wear it I think it looks good for a skeleton watch with a trekkie slant. 4 stars for the price, should be $100.00 @ the most. Thank you for reading my review.

I have had my watch (599 of 1701) for a couple of months and have had no problems with it what so ever. I have read all the reviews on Amazon and I do agree with everyone who has a problem about the numbers on the black bezel. I do not know why Armitron would take the time to put them there when you cannot even see them. After you wear it for some time you don't even know they are there. Other than that I have no cons to report. My watch keeps great time. Sure it might lose a little time if not worn every day but most automatic watches loose time if you don't wear them all the time. Now for the guy who says his stops and needs to be shaken alot to get it started, I'm thinking there is more of a problem there if he needs to shake it all the time. Most watch people will tell you, you can wind your watch with the crown to put power to the main spring, (10-20 winds should get it going.) I purchased my watch from a retailer not on Amazon for about $20 less and was able to ask for a specific number watch. I didn't have the packaging problem like the others have reported and my watch had all the plastic coverings so I knew it was new and never worn. I would recomend this watch if you are a TREKKIE but look around on the web, Amazon isn't the only place you can find this watch.

I have had his watch a month or so now And I have worn it close to every day. I do like it but there are a few concerns of mine that anyone looking to buy this watch needs to know.

Pros: The biggest pro is of course the fact that it's a high quality watch and that its star trek! also it will last a while because of how it's made. The window in the back looks cool. And you can get past the weight, it is very comfortable.

Cons: during the first week or so while the winding is getting onto a routine the watch will stop 2 or 3 times although not common in an automatic watch this is not a problem. I dose stop as well when you adjust the time. when this happens just like any other auto watch it just takes a bit of shaking to get it going again [being that this watch ticks at 4 ticks/ second it's more like a lot of shaking]. Probably the biggest Con of this watch is that is gains time as you have it on throughout the day. This watch gains about 1.5 min per day forcing you to change the time every day or two. Then shake it to get it going again which can become a hassle. Also the links in the band are a bit big and I am unsure whether Armitrom makes a half size link. My final con is that the display case it came in was cracked but if u plan to use it every day like I do that really won't matter.

I am a huge trekkie so this was the perfect watch for me. Overall this is a nice watch but the upkeep on it is a bit strenuous for the quality. Make your own dissention.

Like others are saying the Second-indicator numbers around the black circle on the face are not chrome, like they are in the picture but I don't mind. Mine came in a generic Armitron white plastic stand which was broken and packaged in a cardboard box with no protection on the window of the box so the watch was loose when I received it. I'm disappointed I didn't receive the stand in the picture (picture has been removed now) and the certificate which is mentioned. However the watch is very nice and I took two links out of it to size it down to my wrist and I have number 601 of 1701

I just received mine today, and the second-indicator numbers around the black circle on the face are not chrome, like they are in the picture. I don't think it looks bad that way, but the numbers ARE harder to read. I see some people have said their numbers WERE chrome, but one other person's numbers were NOT. Also, mine came in a generic Armitron box on a BATMAN watch plastic stand, with no indication of Star Trek or the serial number of the watch, although the back of the watch does say it's number 706 out of 1701. While disappointed in the packaging and second-indicator numbers, I still like the watch and intend to keep it; it's just subtle enough that people might not even notice it's a Star Trek watch, especially if they're not fans. I waited until the price dropped to 112 dollars, which seems right, though I REALLY wish the packaging wasn't so odd. But I figure I got a returned item, and that the original case was cracked when sent to the first purchaser. Perhaps this was even the watch the other reviewer got without the chrome numbers, if he returned it. I see now the price is at 200 dollars and there's a notice about problems with the item. Can I complain to Amazon without a full return? I would like to keep it, but wonder if they could send me the correct package, or even a replacement with the chrome numbers. In the end I really dig it and will probably just keep and wear it.

I did not know much about Armitron going into this purchase but I knew this watch was coming out in a limited edition form, really like the style and look of it and I really like automatic/kinetic watches. This watch arrived in perfect order, is absolutely gorgeous and as a Trek fan, a very stylish way to show off my affection for the show. The band is solid stainless steel but not at all too heavy like my Invicta Ocean Ghost automatic watch. The only caveat I have is that when it arrived the watch bracelet was already set to its maximum extension. I'm a fairly big guy. The watch does fit me pretty well right now but its December and 20 degrees outside. I wonder if when its 90 outside in the summer, and my body expands a bit, if the bracelet might become a bit snug and uncomfortable? I can't verify that at the moment of course. As of right now its beautiful, looks great on my wrist, is classy and for Trek fans I would recommend you get yours before they are all gone. Mine is numbered 266 out of 1701 and I'm guessing that they are just randomly given out as sold, not in order from 1 to 1701...but of course I don't know that. Anyway, its not overly expensive for a kinetic/automatic watch, but certainly pricier than a timex or standard seiko chronograph. I don't know too much about Armitron's kinetic movement so I don't yet know how accurate the timepiece is but from what I gather online in research, its very competitive with others of its kind. I'm pleased with the purchase and looking forward to showing it off!!

I got this watch for my husband for Christmas. It is in perfect condition and it came really fast. When I first ordered it, it said that it might take a week and a half to ship but I got it in three days! It was a little pricey but I know he is going to love it...

I gave 4 starts for the watch itself, but the transparent cover case come broken, so it's not possible to keep the watch in a stand together with my other collectibles.
Also the finishing of the numbers (digits) seems not to be from a high quality watch.
Anyway, there are much more positive than negative points:
- The Federation simbol is highlined in the full watch face
- The "transparency" whith their shape it's really cool.
- There is also the serial number on the back side (as already mentioned in the product order page).
