Book Description

Earth is a fiery pile of rubble. Amy, a woman left to fend for herself on the volatile planet, seeks to feed a pitiful group of women and children, misfits left to perish because of various and devious reasons. Amy was diagnosed with cancer the year her world fell apart and not given a shuttle pass to the new planet, Ulsy. That she is still alive is all but a mystery to her. When strange beings land on Earth’s surface, Amy presumes the armored, hideous creatures are looming death.
Dasks is a full-blooded Castian warrior from Dargon. He and his warrior mate have come to Earth seeking human females to bond with. A male of almost four hundred years old, he can’t believe how captivating his new human female, Amy, is. But Dasks’ race can sense deception and lies—he can smell fear. Amy is keeping a secret from him.
When a Castian mates, he mates for life. If Amy dies, so will Dasks. Dasks must decide if he can live without her—because if they mate he will surely die with her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommend May 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read the first book of the series and when this came out I snapped it up. The story drew me in from start to finish. The author makes you feel the pain, joy and fear of all her characters. They come alive for you and dance across the paper (or in my case, my kindle).

If you are looking for a story (dang but I wish it was longer!) that will keep you engrossed to the very end and wanting more, then this series is for you. Even though it is not strictly necessary, I do recommend that you read the first one before this one. It will answer some questions you will have because she did not go back and explain everything again. They are little questions, nothing insurmountable but it will prevent a 'huh?' moment.

I will keep this book with my first for rereading. Again, read and enjoy. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars This Series Has Wings! May 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Armor is the second in a new series by CL Scholy;Sheild being the first book. What an incredible world this author has written for us to explore. This book was heart felt. The Heroine is dying and is left on earth to her fate. She is strong and determine even in the darkest times. She protects the weak and asks for nothing for herself. Our hero is someone you can equally love. He isn't over the top Alpha male.
The author does a wonderful job painting very descriptive worlds so the reader can feel the hopelessness of Earth and the promise of Dargon. Bravo!
Now for the down side:
One thing wrong with this book is the length. This author can write. The story of the TWO main characters needed to be fleshed out more. When I say this author has talent I'm not kidding. This was an emotional story with the Heroine dying and CL Scholy unmercifully tugged on every heart string until the last page. I'm no lite weight but I was ready for my HEA and was well emotionally spent.
Next instead of this book being about one or two mated pairs it gives you three. Only the main two is the focus with the other two mentioned. Well I would have LOVED to know about their stories also. Especially Cobra's. That book is lost to us now. :( Still all said and done I did really like the first two book and will probably check out a third.

5.0 out of 5 stars love conquers all, even cancer September 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Please don't hear me making light of such a devastating disease. But in C L Scholey's world the lead character is consumed by worry over her diagnosis just a year before the earth began to be destroyed by tsunami, meteor storms, and all manner of destruction. She is rescued by the Castians, a race of long lived aliens who haven't had females (due to a guerilla war maneuver by their enemies, the Tonans) in 400 years. while they don't have any experience with women, they have well developed friendships and all male families (not homosexual). Anyway, because of her illness she seems to have no value to their society.

It was a heart wrenching tale that was well written. At one point I thought I could smell the ashe of the volcanic activity. I would say more, but I think I have given enough of the story away.

This is a positive review of the literature presented. I feel compelled to say this, for 100 pages I paid nearly $5, I don't normally do that, and I had to think long and hard before I bought the first book. This is not a positive statement as to the price, while it was a great product, it wasn't enough for the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too expensive for such a short story September 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I think the sequence of New World could be better. After this one I stopped buying the books. I think they are too expensive for such a short story. It could be better developed and longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended July 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Futuristic story where the Heroine, Amy, is left on a dying Earth. Enter alien men who have had all their females wiped out by a related race they are at war with. The Hero, Dasks, truly comes to love Amy even when he finds out she is dying. The interaction and love between the two characters is totally fantastic! Add in a great ability to pain the dying earth and the hope of the new world Dargon and this author can write! My only complaint about the book is I wish it was longer! I also wish that Dasks shield mate and Amy's friend story had been told as we get glimpses to the side but...who knows maybe we will!

2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing like the 1st book May 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I know I read the product description but I really didn't think that meant she would be dying for 99% of the book. I could not even start enjoying the look into the world where the women were taken. The majority was just about Amy and Dasks without a lot of interaction with the secondary characters. It was all woe is me I'm dying so I can't let Dasks mate me cuz it would kill him too. I guess I thought they would find a soultion around half way through and have half a story to be with her friends and his. It's my fault for buying this story, I should have known better cuz I really don't like woe is me books. If you don't mind that and want to dip into the new world again its up to you. I can't recommend this story. I hope the next story in this series is about the hero and heroine who can be together to face whatever is thrown at them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Second Book in the series is best so far December 8, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Armor is the second book in the New World Series, and I have to say probably my favorite book so far.

There are few survivors left on Earth, and those that have managed to survive won't last long with food sources depleting, humans killing each other, and Mother Nature still taking over. Amy is one of those left behind from the shuttle because she wasn't deemed healthy enough due to her breast cancer. Along with her are a group of women and 3 children. Amy is the "leader" of the group since she is still strong enough to help feed the others.

Dasks is excited with the concept of going to Earth to find more human females to mate with. When he sees Amy he knows she will be his, but he can also sense lies and deception from her and is confused as to why she refuses to mate with him.

This story brought me to tears because I felt bad for Amy. All she wants to do is live her life and love Dasks, but to mate with him is to bring death knocking on his door sooner than he would without mating her.

4.0 out of 5 stars A tear jerker...
I liked that Amy was strong. She didn't feel sorry for herself and kept fighting. You have to read the book to find out why I consider the book a little bit of a tear jerker....
