5.0 out of 5 stars One Awsome Game!!!
In this new addition of AC, you have the added choice of a self piloting friend Ac to work with. You also have a new weapon drop system, in other words, run out of ammo drop gun and run. This game is awsome and I will warn you now, it will take you a while to actually pass a few missions. But its still a really cool game.Play on gamers.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointment
_I own and have played through all the Armored Core games, and this one was a severe dissapointment. The storyline was a remake of the original. And while it was interesting to see the storyline again, with a few differences, I was also disspointed in not seeing a new, original one.
_The main menu screen goes beyond an eyesore. The menu selection has also been...

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Game for PS2, March 1, 2003
By
This review is from: Armored Core III (Video Game)
This game is GREAT. If you like games that last long and never lose their playability. Then buy this game. Great plot and deep involvment. An AC is a giant mech that has various parts for each body part. Head, arms, core(body), generator, radiator, FCS, Legs, Booster, Back unit left, extension, inside, back unit right, back unit left and back unit right. And there are lots of parts for each category. You can have your own customized Armored Core. Basically when you start out, you need to gather lots of credits so you can buy better stuff. Then there is an arena, you fight other AC's. Missions that affect the course of the game. And extra arena (2v2). Plus you can have a 2v2 if u have 2 tv's 2 ps2's 2 copies of AC3 and a link cable. Which is realllllly fun. So, don't look at anymore games. Buy this one! And hope Silent Line (Sequel to AC3) comes out soon. More parts missions and etc. We need this game to get online too. It would be the best experience of anything. It already is in Japan. JUST BUY THIS!

5.0 out of 5 stars I really mean 4.5 STARS..., September 10, 2002

because this game has one thing about it that i hate, and that it the annoying banging and clanking of the MECHS as they walk around. other than this it is a really cool game. i must admit i was a little skeptical at first but i said "oh what the heck" so i bought it today at GameStop and don't regret it.

the gameplay is pretty cool, the best thing is that the A.I. MECHS will assist you if you are in trouble (great feature), this gives the game mega points. i will admit that if you play against the A.I(computer) you will pay the price. they are pretty powerful until you get right up on them. also the missions are pretty easy so this makes the game less stressful.

overall, i like this game a lot because it is different. i bought Gun Metal(3.75/5) for XBOX and it has nothing on AC3. so my advice is that if you are a MECH fanatic you need to buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Genre of video games, and warfare all it's own!, April 10, 2003

Armored Core 3 is the latest and definately the Greatest, of all the Armored Core games to date, and that says a LOT! With LITTERALLY millions of core configurations, an engaging story, fast paced white knuckle action, and the kind of multiplayer excitement that could forge or ruin friendships, Armored Core 3 should be at the top of your list to buy.
In Armored Core 3 you pick up on the familiar story line of a new Raven, a mercinary using giant combat robots to forge justice on an untamed planet. The story line immediately drops you into the middle of conflict, and tries to make you choose sides, but with betrayal and danger awaiting you on every mission, the only side you can be on is your own!
Aside from the 100's of missions, the arena mode is back in a big way with 100's of fierce competitors, and even 2 on 2 matches. Did I mention the ultiamte matches where the game handicaps you two on one!!
Learn the strengths and weaknesses of every part, every configuration, and yourself as a pilot, maximize your potential and charge into battle fighting until you grit your teeth to dust. That's what it's all about. Fanatics only need apply, if your not into it like your life is on the line, then people will eat you alive in multiplayer!
Smooth graphics, crisp sound, realistic controls (only as responsive as the AC you build, don't get frustrated, it's your fault!) and the possiblity for endless play!
Armored Core 3 RULES!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the Armored Core series yet, August 11, 2003

Well I have to give this game 5 stars because of the killer graphics, awsome parts and can't get enough of it. I have to recommend this game if you are a AC fanatic. Though, the human enhancementes are gone you still get a nifty optinal parts which has the "extra power." Giving the game extra life makes it easy. My ACs are best in my opinion but beat this game and send it into Silent Line, better even in that game! So go buy it and get all parts and then buy Silent Line: Armored Core to get more!

4.0 out of 5 stars the best, but not much different, August 25, 2003

Armored Core is one of my favorite games. how could it not be? you're a big robot and you get to blow things up. one thing that turns some people off to it but some people really appreciate, is the customization. you can customize your mech much more than you can in any game thats anything like it. in other words, this is the best mech-based game. if you own armored core 2, however, this isn't necessarily an automatic must buy. there aren't enough new things in it to make you buy it if you weren't that interested in the others. if you liked the others, this one is better with plenty of new missions, but isn't much different. if you're at all interested in mech-based games, however, i suggest you buy this. now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best AC Ever? Perhaps..., October 22, 2002

After waiting months for an American release I was incredibly suprised. The new controls and features add whole new dimensions to the game. As in the previous Armored Core games there are scores of missions and tons of opponents to battle head-to-head in the arena. Tons of hidden parts are scattered through the levels, and even hidden levels can be fond, with enough effort. All the parts have been redesigned and cleaned up, as well as the graphics, giving an amazing sense of realism. The multiplayer options have been greatly expanded as you can now play with up to four players, and can choose from premade ACs if you dont have your own to use.I thuroughly loved this game, and give it my highest recommendation. Have fun piloting Ravens!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get The Full Picture on a Great Game, October 28, 2002

This game is one of the better games for the ps2. The game is long, by my standards fun and filled with great missions. There are lots of ways to look at this game. First is to look at it as a shooting game, now lets face it, even the guys who think there to good for the shoot em up games like a little bang in a game. Second is as a RPG (Role Playing Game) that's right RPG, the fact is that you are playing the role of a mercenary working for companies to complete missions so in that since it is an RPG. Last is a strategy game, this game is big on customized AC's so the need for some strategic since is key to being victorious. However even though I said that this game can really make things blowup, which it can, it does not mean that it is all shooting. If you are one of the gamers that enjoys nothing but games that are nothing but shooting and blood then this is NOT the game for you.
I will quickly give an overall rating (1-20) of the game.

Graphics 19 Not as smooth as it could be but still great
Game play 18
Story 14
Music 15 Kind of Corny the mood do not match the music
Sound 16 the constant clang of the AC is very annoying
Comp. AI 20 The COMPS are much better than you would expect
Versus 19 this versus mode can handle 2-4 players
Violence 12 (Not included in AVERAGE) they are robots
General Play 19 All in all very well done

Average 18

This game goes above and beyond most other game of the same style. This game is a exhalent buy for anyone who likes and clean fun game.

PS. If this game appeals to you then you will also like Mobile Suit Gundam "Federation VS Zeon"

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Armored Core III (Video Game)
It's been a while since I have played the A.C. Games and I saw AC3 and tried it out. I was instantly hooked. I am new to the world of MECH games, but I new this was a great one. I spent a few days trying it out and enjoyed it so much that my mom threatened to ground me if I couldn't tear my mind away from it. The graphics are great and I love the massive arsenal of weapons that exsist and weapons that are yet to come. I reccomened this game to anyone, wheather into MECH games or not, definitly try this one out.
