One of the most impressive things in this game is the bug animations. I never have seen anything like it. I enjoy getting close to them and watch how they move. You can even (sometimes) walk right up to them with out them even noticing you. My favorite type of bugs are the ones in Egypt. The weapons are also cool. The sound effects as well gives in a new strength. For anyone who has played Turok, they should be able to master the controls quite perfectly.

I think this game is a must for the gamer that has friends or siblings. One of my biggest problems is having to take turns playing, but not in this game. The cooperative mode is extremly fun, and also takes down the difficuty. This feature more than makes up for the small multiplayer modes, which are still very fun. My personal favorite is the "king of the hill" mode where you and your buddies battle to stay near a flag the longest. The main game is short but still fun there is always a suprise to find. So if you need a good multi-player game get this.

This game is sorta hard and challenging yet it's one of the best N64 games that I have played. The gameplay is kind of complex and there are a lot of puzzles that are very tricky. Whether you hate bugs or just like blowing stuff up this game is for you. It's also a TUROK fan's dream. I would not reccommend this game for the faint of heart or the easily grossed out.

When you look at the title of a game like this, it makes you think, "Man, that's got to be a good game!" Sadly enough, Armorines doesn't live up to its name. Yes, it has lots of levels, four-player support, big bugs, and gruesome effects, but if I tell you these things: you might be enticed to buy the game. Here's the 411: Levels are too dark and confusing. There are very few characters to choose from. Bugs never appear in big groups to be a real threat. Controls are sloppy and way too responsive. The four-player mode is okay at best, but again: controls prohibit any accurate shooting. The two-player co-op mode is the ONLY aspect that saves Armorines. Unfortunately, it's too "gotta hurry and do this" and your friend will never fully get into it. But if you're a big fan of first-person shooters, then you might find something interesting in this package. If you really want a good bug-squashing game, though, then check out Body Harvest or Jet Force Gemini.

Greatest game ever!!!!,

Armorines Project S.W.A.R.M. is one of the best games ever. Before I thought turok and a couple other games just didn't have a great story line. I was looking for a game that could be fun and also have a great story line. When I saw this in the shelves i was thinking that if it was made by acclaim why get it? But I decided to give them another try. I played it and within 10 minutes I was hooked. The great realism of the characters and monsters were extraordinary. It was great how the AI ran and the "BUGS" did things themselves. If you hid in a hole they would search for you and try to get you. I also liked the idea of the "QUEENS" it was pretty cool.

This game is pretty well made. The storyline makes sense ( alien bugs come to Earth and terrorize it. you are one of two members of an area 51 project.)and the game is good with gameplay.
Though a couple things makes the game not as well enjoyable. Like four of the levels are entirely dark and you have to use night vision which takes up one third of the screen. The weapons are pretty good too, you have certain guns that you won't have to worry about running out of and they are decent guns. The weapon select though is boring. Through one entire level you only get three main guns. The character you've chosen will either have a machine or semi auto gun with a rocket or grnade launcher. and each level only has one different gun. Multiplayer is pretty good too with its game types and all the guns you get to choose. Just that in multiplayer the gins don't show up on the screen. Overall the biggest let down of the game is just how dark it is when playing and the night vision, plus some mission objectives are either hard or difficult to figure out.

This is an excellent game. Not only do you get to have a gripping, terrifying adventure, but you can also gang up on the buggies in 2-player cooperative mode. Yeah, sure, the plot isn't exactly original, but this FPS really stands out around the others. It is packed with edge-of-the-seat suspense around every corner.

Really Bad,

I bought this game a few years ago, when it first came out. It was SO BAD and it still is. I have to admit, i saw the commercials on tv and the game looked pretty cool, kinda like turok, but it isnt. The controls are horrible, making it impossible to shoot accurately. The graphics are too fuzzy and dark, making it extremely hard to see ememies. There is really no story to why you are running around shooting bugs. Its really sad, you can tell acclaim got the idea for this game when starship troopers was out in the theaters, and rushed to get it out as quick as possible. If you want a first person shooter, get goldeneye, perfect dark, any quake, or any fps that was a hit on the pc that was ported to n64

Armorines is a game that we have all played before. If you have played Turok, Quake, Doom, etc. then you have played this game. Not only that, the levels are short, there are very few weapons and the control options are bizarre and take some time to get used to (pushing left/right on the control stick causes you to strafe in that direction, not turn! ). Aiming and performing delicate maneuvers is a chore and the environments look like cardboard cutouts. The sound is nothing extraordinary. Acclaim should have taken a look at Medal of Honor and applied the same detail to a game that had potential, but ended up as a mediocre shooter. This game is boring.

Armorines is a very good game.,

Armorines is a very good game! The graphics are exellent for the N64 Console. The gameplay itself is'nt just your typicalrun-and-gun game, it requires you to use your brain, and its coopretive mode lets you and a friend squish those creepy crawlies from different angles! The only problem is the storyline is'nt very original but who cares about the stoyrline anyway? the game still boils down to blowing apart giant bugs from outer space. ... Richard Nixon |
