Reviews US and Japanese tanks in the Pacific, August 22, 2009
This review is from: Armour of the Pacific War (Vanguard) (Paperback)
I liked the book because it is a good overview of WWII armored vehicles in the Pacific theater. 40 pages, mostly narrative. B&W photos, some grainy as are most of the photos on Japanese tanks. There are color diagrams to show the camoflague schemes used which is interesting since the Japanese used very vivid colors.
Book also gives insight as to the strengths and weakness of each vehicle. Also of interest, it shows some of the specialty armor vehicles used to support amphibian landings.
Not a lot out there on Japanese tanks, this is a good place to start, New Vanguard published book specifically on Japanese tanks 1939-1945 which may also be easier to find. Recommended for armor enthusiasts.
