A Wonderful Reference,
By Kayleighbug "kayleighbug" (Massena, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Arms & Armor (Eyewitness Books) (Hardcover)
From a different perspective, I have always found this book to be a wonderful reference for role-playing games. In my D&D campaign, this book was required reading for all players. It may not be the most thorough book on the subjest but it is pretty close. It gives those new to gaming an incredible viewpoint of medieval armour, siege weapons and types of weapons and their uses that fall outside the general point of reference for most young people. Any RPG fan is sure to love this book. Aside from RPG fans, I think this book has something to offer everyone. All of the books in the Eyewitness series stand apart as an amazing set of visual reference volumes. Vivid illustration and bold lettering make them easy to read and do not put off younger readers while the wealth of information available and the thoroughness which they have exercised in creation of these volumes earn these books a welcome place in any reference library - whether school, village or home.

Arms & Armor is a great book!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Arms & Armor (DK Eyewitness Books) (Hardcover)
I love this book so much that I decided to skip writing & English one day and do a report about it instead. There are so many different weapons. Don't look at that one star rating because he doesn't know what "arms" means. He thought it meant arms like a limb.It has so much cool stuff like an early grenade launcher, early grenades and a lot of different helmets. It goes from the stone age to the Old West. The pictures are so great I decided to copy some of them and put them on a poster board and write about them. Right now I'm eight years old and I'm mostly interested in WWII but this really caught my attention. I think it's better than most of the WWII books. I can't say anything bad about this book because there is nothing and if there was something bad, I would have told it. I think people that are interested in weapons and if they want to make a project about time periods like medieval or old west, they will really like this book. I wish I could buy it but I haven't seen it at the library sales or thrift stores. I think you should buy it or borrow it at the library.

I reccomend this book for anyone wishing to learn more about weaponry or doing a school project. While I was studing a specific part of the book for an article in American history, I found interest in many other parts of the book as well. It was very helpful and very interesting.

Great for my pre-teen,
This review is from: Arms & Armor (DK Eyewitness Books) (Hardcover)
My son picked this book out at a homeschool conference off a table with tons of books. He saw it again at a book store, so I knew I had to get it for him. Good details and pictures for those interested in arms/armor/weapons.

Weapons and Armor suited for Battle,

This review is from: Arms & Armor (DK Eyewitness Books) (Hardcover)
If you have a fascination with weapons and armor like I do, you are definitely going to want to take a good, long look at this book. It features all kinds of weapons and armor from many different eras of time, most of which are historical. And believe me, this is definitely a plus for me. In fact, I can hardly wait until I have enough money to buy it's 'sister book' known as Eyewitness, Battle!

A very nice book that takes you through the technological advances in weaponry through the ages, right up into you get to the firearm period, which left those doing the whole armor bit quite a few problems to deal with, and continue to deal with.A nice looking book that is quite informative.

SEE real weapons and armor,

This review is from: Arms & Armor (Eyewitness Books) (Hardcover)
DK eyewitness books are some of the greatest non-fiction books around. The distinctive white background and high-quality photography gives this book an edge over any other nonfiction picture book. And -- these pictures are real! They're beautiful museum-quality photos of all things related to arms & armor, accompanied by informative captions and text. Learn about all types of armor and weapons, how they were used, and the people who used them. If you know someone (young or old) who is fascinated by armor, then you must introduce them to this book!
