Obsolete,
By Joseph Adams "brother" (Superior, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: ARMS AND ARMOUR (Hardcover)
Armor wasn't designed for protection- it was just for looks. It didn't protect against gun powder. When gun powder came to widespread use it made them obsolete. Chainmail refers to the material its made out of, not the item itself. Warriors can use any weapon and armor anyway. You are expected to die on the field of battle, even if it's just one person picks a fight with you. See, you had to be royalty to live in Europe 500 years ago. At the bottom was the peasants- these were usually illegal liens because the only qualifiction to be a knight is that you own land. Barons had ordders to give knights land. The king could do whatever they wanted- the whole city was a kingdom. See, you are going back in time. To now they can do whatever they want as long as they don't do anything illegal. Illegal hard drugs are like the anithesis of a knight- what it does is it depresses you. After several yaers you get super fat- they have height and weight requirements to be in the military. You become elligible when you're seven years old. They can do whatever they want to you.
