Editorial Reviews

This is a wartime propaganda film, but still has great value for its incredible footage. Release by Rare Aviation on DVD format, it is recommenced for anyone interested in seeing film of the US Army Air Force in the Pacific. The film tells the story of American air power in the Pacific, with footage from New Guinea, Burma and Central Pacific, and the story of both bombing and combat support missions. The film continues to Saipan and Iwo Jima. Likely filmed at the end of the war, the film includes views of Okinawa and even General Dolittle's arrival to assume command of the redeployed 8th Air Force to the Pacific. The film ends with B-29 bombing missions, including the "Enola Gay", with atomic bomb loaded. Also, see Rare Aviation's Perishable RUSH DVD.
