3.0 out of 5 stars Some Versions Don't Have Birds, October 18, 2002
By
This review is from: Army (Audio CD)
I think the music is great, but I wanted to warn anyone else that some versions of the Army cd single, with the same cover, have "Theme From Dr. Pyser" instead of "Birds". I preordered it on Amazon.com and got that one. Its not so bad, since "Birds" is on the Japanese version of the album and I live in Japan, so it shouldn't be too hard for me to find. My version does have "Air" and "Leather Jacket". "Leather Jacket" was written by drummer Darren Jesse, who also wrote "Magic" from the album (track 4, the one with the "sha-la-la's" and the timpani) and its really good, with a great chorus, though short. "Air" is a great track. "Dr. Pyser" is an instrumental, kind of cheesy, but fun. It was done in the same sessions as "Air" with producer Brendan O'Brian, the bass is great--superior sound to their usual work with Caleb Southern.
