Sweeeeeeeeeet justice!,
By Shawn "Super-Face" (British Columbia, Canada) - See all my reviews

This thing is sweet! Ive wanted a sequel to "Army of Darkness" for sooooo long, and this collection has eased my suffering! The animation is terrific, and its a pretty fresh new story. Though, lots of the one liners and things are taken from the film, but they still manage to turn them around and make them funny again. And there are definately some new quotes and awesome scenes to look at! Totally worth the purchase. I can't wait until my "Shop 'til you drop Dead" collection comes in the mail!

This is a really well done follow-up to the Raimi films. If you are a fan of the films, you probably will not be disappointed with this graphic novel as it stays quite true to the films.
The artwork is quite good too. The slightly cartoony look of the drawings works far better than an ultrarealistic rendering would have done. A nice deadite treat.

I read other reviews that this was a continuation to the evil dead story, and although it does not take place directly after Army of Darkness, it definitely feels like a continuation of the series and it is a really fun read.As someone who has not read comics in quite some time, I found this volume very enjoyable. It was like I was reading an animated sequel to the series! Lines are rehashed from the films but they are used in perfect context to what is going on, and all of the characters are true to their film counterparts. I could definitely see Sam Raimi directing a sequel like this. The illustrations may be a bit more 'cartoonish' than I was expecting, but I think that adds to the humor. If I were to give any criticism is that it was too short! Overall, this a great read - HIGHLY recommended!

I just finished reading this and I really couldn't put it down. Nick Bradshaw's art is perfect and I can't picture the comics being drawn by anyone else. The story fits into the already ludicrous Evil Dead storyline perfectly and every fan who reads this won't see it as anything less than a perfect continuation to the story of Ash and his war on the Deadites.
Speaking of the story, the writing is top-notch here, with crazy twists occurring to stop Ash at every turn and great humor that will have you smiling as you read every blood-soaked page. This is a really fun comic, and every Evil Dead fan who loves comics or remotely enjoys reading should make an effort to pick this one up.

Good start!!,

fun read... but could use bit more tension and suspense in the Story. But still worth buying if for nothing else as book 1 in the EVIL DEAD comic. Plus the art is fantastic and the story IS groovy.

Just have one thing to ask though. What comics come in here is it all of the Ashes 2 Ashes or is it half?

Not happy with this seller choice of pictures!,

This review is from: Army Of Darkness: Ashes 2 Ashes (Paperback)
I had purchased ashes to ashes the original cover or so I thought. I collect all of the army of darkness comics and when I found the one I was missing from a seller on amazon I was excited! But that all came crashing down soon when I recieved my product it was the spike t.v. awards cover that is worth less than the cost of ordering. I wanted the comic that was listed in the description and pictured! I am very unhappy with this purchase and I will not order from this seller again until they can guarantee that I will get the product listed and pictured.
