Product Description

Amazon.com Preview

The Army Men series shares a characteristic with the creatively destructive neighbor kid. Both return to the yard time and time again with creative new ways to blow plastic army men into pellet-size bits. Ironically, Army Men: Green Rogue debuts on Sony's next-generation system boasting good old-fashioned console-style scrolling action (à la Expendable).

During the ongoing war between the Green and Tan soldiers, the Green Army's scientists have been whittling away on a high-tech "super" soldier. When the Tan soldiers push the boundary, you--or you and a friend in two-player cooperative mode--get to test-drive the lean, mean, fighting machines. Players plow through 16 levels (two levels from the comfort of an Amphibious Assault Vehicle) with enough firepower and armor to take on the entire Tan Army. Scrolling through the fairly linear path, players unload rounds from rifles, grenades, bazookas, screen-clearing bio-strikes, and flamethrowers. Each weapon category is upgradeable five levels for even huskier cigar-chomping fun.

As expected, the fast action is matched with slick graphics. Dramatic lighting effects create realistic shadows, water reflection, haze, and such. Let the other guys strategize their next move from the bunker: if you enjoyed Rambo, you may enjoy this game. If you've seen Arnold Schwarzenegger's Commando more than once, order this game immediately. --Eric Twelker--This text refers to the PlayStation2 version of the game.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst army men game ever, May 21, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Army Men: Green Rogue (Video Game)
Whenever I saw this game in the video rental store I was excited to rent it and take it home and play it.I was really disapointed though. This game [is bad] and it is the worst army men game ever created. It looks like they spent most of their time on the cutscenes and not enough time on the game. The bullets look like cannon balls and the scenery is just plain ugly.Take my advice dont by this game.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled, April 13, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Army Men: Green Rogue (Video Game)
Green Rogue is marketed as a follow up to Sarge's Here's 2...Well, don't be fooled. The graphics are a joke and it is a typical 'quick to market' answer to a succesful predesessor. Do yourself a favor and buy another game.
