It's a great game for kids...,

This review is from: Army Men Real Time Strategy (CD-ROM)
I have downloaded the full version and its a great game. I dont understand why its rated teen. Must be because of the violence. But I think its a great game for kids. Because your not going out and shooting real people. But like u would play in the backyard in the sandbox. It is a great game. I'm 15 and i reall enjoyed it. The game is not really challenging for the people that like to play hard RTS games. But its just real fun. I have played a bunch of Army Men games in the past and this one by far is the best. I think everyone should get it. MY parents even like it. Wich is kind of a first :D

AWESOME!!!,
A Kid's Review

This game is great! I've downloaded the demo, which you can get at the 3do website and most game-downloading sites, but it only lets you play one mission. I haven't bought it yet, but I am going to convince my mom to get it for me. But from what I've read from the 3do site and the screenshots I've seen, this is what the basic idea of the game is: You make little green plastic people, vehicles, and buildings and try to stop the evil tan army from taking over. Everything happens in a "toy" enviorment: someones property. You might be outside, in the basement, in the kitchen, in the garage, in a bedroom, etc. If a someone gets shot to much or meets its doom from Scorch (an awesome flame thrower) you can watch little blobs of plastic fly of them until they explode and melt into a blob of plastic. You can send little dump trucks out to collect plastic from frisbees, dog bowls, other toys, previously melted vehicles or people, and lots of other stuff. You can also collect electricity that the vehicles need from watches, walkie talkies, radios, and other things. Then you can use the plastic in molding machines (barracks, garages, etc.)to make new people or vehicles. You also have to defend yourself from ants, a robot with fire crackers on his back, and other various things. There are 15 missions to do and also some other secret missions ranging anywhere from 5 min. to an hour and a half to complete. Your goal in the missions is to get gold medals on all of them. Along with each mission there are two extra things to do like: finish in less than 30 min., find all power-ups, destroy all tan, kill all ants, etc. If you complete the mission you get a bronze medal, if you also do one extra thing you get silver, if you do both extras you get gold. You can play multiplayer with a friend (on two different computers of course) and go through a boot camp tutorial. It takes a lot of stategy, and the AI is great but the tan won't ever use its barracks and garages to make new reinforcements, which makes it a tad easier. It has amazing graphics, great music, and lots of options. It goes quite extreme for being based on the simple, green, soft plastic soldiers. I've played other Army Men games, and this one tops them all. This is the best game I've ever played! Another great game from 3do. BUY IT!!!(The 'Teen' rating on it really is just there to look good. Its really not all that violent. Yes, there are guns and they fire, there's this whacky fat tan guy with a chunk of his blown off and three green skulls on his necklace, and if you kill an ant there's a splatter of bug juices, but its okay. I'm not saying you play with teddy bears and count flowers, but honestly, it's not that bad.)

Not just for kids.,

I have played every PC Army Men game released and though this isn't the best, it is a very solid game. The graphics are good, but not great. The music is good, but not great. But the gameplay is very good. The AI is very good also as any of the med trucks close to a building and/or your units automatically goes and repairs it. The dump trucks collect what you need most whether it is plastic or electricity. And each campaign you play has 2 other objectives to achieve. If you achieve those 2 and beat that campaign, you get a gold medal. Miss one you get a silver medal. Miss 2 and you get a bronze. You need to get all gold medals (and that ain't easy) to open bonus missions underneath the Great Battles option ( make sure you play this on hard because that is the requirement for 3 or 4 missions). If you don't, you will miss out on a couple of Great Battles. There are some cool features like the radio operator who can call in an air drop of 5 extra machine gunners, a bombing run, and even a magnifying glass to melt a building down. There are robots with firecrackers on their backs, minelayers, tanks, helicopters, and many more units to choose from. The cutscenes are pretty well done and there is some good comedy (though sometimes cheesy). You also get to fight ants and other various bugs and you fight on many different landscapes from the front yard to the basement to the kitchen counter and more. I really enjoyed this game though it will probably never be a classic. Just straight forward and challenging fun. The worst thing about this game is the lack of being able to fight against the computer on a map of your choice. Other than that, melt away.
