4.0 out of 5 stars Solid album, but not the Holy Grail of AOTP releases, April 13, 2010
My problem with the 2nd album was the lack of Apathy. Well, Apathy is back, but now Esoteric is missing (one of my favorite AOTP members). I just don't find Des Devious, Demoz, Doap Nixon, King Syze, etc. to really add much to AOTP. Sure they can deliver some great lyrics, but the other more talented emcees could do that better (Vinnie Paz, Celph Titled, Apathy, Esoteric, Reef, Planetary). This album still feels like it has a lot of "filler" emcees on the roster. Not saying that anybody is particularly bad, it's just that I'd rather hear more Apathy, Vinnie, Celph, etc. (like I mentioned above).

I thought the beats on the second album sounded a bit too "commercial" on a few songs, and this album seemingly ups the ante. There's some great beats on this album, but it seems like AOTP is slowly shifting towards a more mainstream sound (unintentionally). Don't get me wrong, this still oozes that underground vibe, but some of the newer artists coupled with some of the newer beats seem out of place when compared to the sound of the first AOTP album. Again, this is personal preference.

Still, a very solid album and worth a purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars im impressed, June 3, 2010

I'm a Jedi Mind fan and AOTP fan so of course I copped this album. I was impressed. Its exactly what you would want. The only disappointments would be maybe some of your favorite members arent on many tracks. Jus Allah is only on one track which was a big disappointment for me. Also, Esoteric only has 2 verses I think, but he kills them. Actually all of the members are pretty much on top of their game. Celph Titled and Apathy are amazing as always and Vinnie Paz too is on his game. Outerspace is good and even doap nixon does descent (my least favorite member of the group). The production is great and the album is good length. No reason in the world not to buy this. Support real hardcore hip-hop. I just got the new Bone album and they sold out, but AOTP made up for it cus they are still keeping it raw... Best album so far this year for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Super Group of hiphop, December 13, 2011

AOTP never disappoints, I honestly don't think they can make a wack track. If your a Vinnie Paz fan, you already own the album. Celph Titled out shines everyone in my opinion. Production is perfection, lyrically insane every track.

Dope album, a lot better than the last AOTP CD. Not quite as good as the original-"Torture Papers", but still a really good album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You AOTP!!!!, April 2, 2010
This is another solid AOTP Jedi family release. These guys are the only reason I still look forward to Rap releases. The production is sick, the only bad beat is Drenched in Blood. Its good to hear Ap on this. Everyone kills it. This is that s**t that you can max out on the bench with! IMO AOTP is the modern Wu-Tang. I know, I know they arent as ground breaking and dont have the personality of Wu but for me they are the tightest group out right now. My man Louie Dogz got some sense and oly let Jus spit one verse. What happend to him? He needs to let go of Pazs' sac and get his Violent by Design style back. One

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY AMAZING, April 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
WOW...THESE GUYS ARE THE SICKEST GROUP OF LYRICISTS, MC'S, PRODUCERS IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW....THEY HAVE THE RECIPE FOR SUCCESS. EVERY BEAT WAS WELL PRODUCED AND HOT. EVERY GUY TO TOUCH THE MIC WAS ON POINT, EXCEPT FOR JUS ALLAH(WHY! BRO)GET OUT THE GAME HOMIE, IT WAS OVER FOR YOU EVER SINCE YOU SWITCHED YOUR STYLE UP. THE OTHER GUY TO LEAVE A REVIEW WAS SPOT ON TOO...THE ONLY BEEF I GOT IS WHY HE SAID "DRENCHED IN BLOOD" HAS A BAD BEAT. I THOUGH IT WAS ONE OF THE SICKEST BEATS ON THE ALBUM...IT WAS BASS HEAVY AND IT HAD A DARK EERIE RIFT TO IT...EVERY BEAT ON THIS ALBUM HAD SOMETHING TO SHARE. I SIMPLY CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS ALBUM, IF YOU GET A TEAM OF PRODUCERS LIKE THIS AND SET THEM UP WITH AN ALLSTAR TEAM OF RAPPERS LIKE THIS YOU CAN'T HELP BUT CREATE A MASTERPIECE LIKE THIS. THIS WAS THEIR BEST ALBUM TO DATE, RITUAL OF BATTLE WAS A REALLY CLOSE SECOND. THE FIRST AOTP ALBUM WASN'T THAT WELL PRODUCED....A COUPLE OF THE TRACKS ON THIS ALBUM WERE RECYCLED SNOWGOONS BEATS BUT THEY WERE DONE WELL AND SO MOST PEOPLE DIDN'T NOTICE. I CAN'T WAIT TILL THE NEXT ONE....RAPPERS TO STAND OUT WERE DEFINETLY CELPH TITLED, PLANETARY(VERSES AND HOOKS), APATHY AND VINNIE PaZ , BUT THE REST WERE DECENT ALSO, DEMOZ AND DOAP NIX WEREN'T UP TO THEIR NORMAL LEVEL. ON THE LAST ONE DEMOZ KILLED IT...HE SPIT RHYMES LIKE HE HAD SOMETHING TO PROVE, BUT THIS TIME HIS FLOW WAS SORT OF LACK LUSTER, BUT I GUESS WHEN YOU'RE SIDE BY SIDE WITH THIS KIND OF TALENT IT WOULD BE HARD TO STAND OUT. REGARDLESS, THIS ALBUM IS NOTHING SHORT OF 5 STARS....NO JAZZY SOFT A$$ BEATS....NO LOVEY DOVEY LYRICS...AND BEST OF ALL NO WACK A$$ R+B HOOKS.
