after slowly figuring how to put this thing together for the directions sucked, i attached it and it was a pain getting on but it works and catches the grass...hence grass catcher

It works, ie: it catches grass. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I don't have to rake grass anymore so I'm happy.

After purchasing this product as recommended by the MTD manufacturer's website we discovered first that none of the accompanying hardware was included in the packaging. After having located and acquiring the hardware at a local lawn mower repair shop, we determined the grass catcher could not be mounted on the lawn mower the manner is which the directions indicated. I had to take the lawn mower, grass catcher and hardware back to the local lawn mower repair shop who recommended mounting the hardware a completely different way than the instructions, which included having to drill new holes in the lawn mower deck. A really poor product, with a set of instructions that were totally off base.

Some of the other reviews stated that the instructions are poor and the bag doesn't work well. Just the opposite! I had the grass catcher installed in less than 15 minutes.....the instructions were adequate, the picture on the instructions tells the story (just study the picture). One recommnedation: the spring-loaded chute on your mower sort of gets in the way after you dump the grass and go to put the bag back on. THIS ISN'T THE FAULT OF THE BAG OR HOW THE BAG MOUNTS TO THE MOWER!! The catcher comes with a small attachement that allows you to remove your existing chute and use the catcher without the chute in the way. REMOVE THE CHUTE AND USE THE LITTLE MOUNTING BAR PROVIDED! You can remove and re-install the bag in seconds without the chute(and it's easy as pie to remove the chute and put it back on when you want to mulch your grass as opposed to collecting it). I use the catcher only to collect leaves. It's scary how well the catcher works (like a vacuum cleaner)

Ok, when I talked to customer service they said the modelof lawnmower I had would not support a grass catcher. I bought one anyways (tired of picking up grass all over the place) and am glad I did.

You can not beat the price and it works as advertised. I could not be happier with my purchase (worth the [...] for sure).

This bagger was not at all correct; the only part that worked was the frame to attach to the mower, there was absolutely no frame work with it so is just dragged against the ground!! I tried on several occasions to reach the customer service line and could not get through. The time frame past on return so I just threw it away. DO NOT BUY THIS; it was cheaper to go buy a new mower with a new bagger!!

I had been very satisfied with my mower since I purchased it about two years ago. The only thing I didn't appreciate was when I waited too long to mow the grass I would always have to rake up the excess grass that didn't spread across the lawn evenly. I thought this product was going to be the solution . . . turns out I was very wrong. The product is way too difficult to attach to your lawn mower. The directions are vague at best and confusing. Even after I got it on, the bag would only fill up about half way and this occured in seconds. Now you have to take the bag off, empty it, and go through the hassle of getting it back on. I honestly only used it once for about 5 minutes and decided it was not worth my time. My advice is do not waste your money, spend the extra couple minutes raking the grass or just buy a mower with a built on attachment. Hopefully this helps.
