MTD Twin Grass Colector,
By "cdcs95" (Topsham, Maine) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Arnold OEM-190-180 FastAttach Twin Bag Grass Collector (Lawn & Patio)
I purchased one of these baggers and have been very satisfied with the installation and operation of the unit. My problem is that after 2 seasons in Maine approx. 4 months of lawn cutting the nylon baggs have rotted out. They have large holes in them and do not hold the grass. The problem is that MTD doesn't offer replacement bags you must buy the entire unit to get bags this make it a bad deal.

Excellent attachment BUT!!!!!!!!,
This review is from: Arnold OEM-190-180 FastAttach Twin Bag Grass Collector (Lawn & Patio)
This twin rear bagger does an excellent job BUT, I found that the bags can create a bit of a mess when trying to empty them (dust and some grass). I put 30 gallon yard bags into the grass catchers for easier clean-up and emptying of the grass clippings. Other than that this it's an excellent attachment.

I have a Toro LX 425 that is apparently made by MTD, the bagger fit without any issues and installed it in about 30 minutes. Great product and Great Price, if you buy the Toro branded on it will cost you $400, this one with shipping was roughly $270.

Check year and model of tractor mower,

Product is exactly as described. Depending on the year of the MTD mower, it may be necessary to order extra (appx $30) parts to attach the bag assembly. The extra parts attach to the mower frame under the seat and allow the bagger assembly to clear the rear fender.

FastAttach Twin Bag, works great, but hard to assemble,
By A Customer
This review is from: Arnold OEM-190-180 FastAttach Twin Bag Grass Collector (Lawn & Patio)
Once it's all put together it's a thing of beauty, but I found the grass chute extremely difficult to attach to the deck. I did get it attached but it was a lot harder than it appeared in the instructions. Would have given it 5 stars, but the difficulty in the chute drops it down a tad.

Arnold's grass catcher,

A lot more complicated to install that was published. Certain parts had to be bent to be installed. Grass is not distributed equally to both bags. If grass is wet it gets clogged in the chute.

I spent alot of time trying to find a replacement for the rubber strap from the mower to the chute. I finally found a part number of MTD 723-04008A. If you are new to buy this, order a couple of extra chute straps ($4 each) to have on hold, because the strap is rubber and will rot over time.Search "General Assembly Bagger parts MTD OEM-190-180 Twin Bagger" to find any part for this grass catcher. I found best prices and best HELP at discountonlineparts dot com in TN. partstree in TX is a great site but a little bit higher. I have new high-lift blades to see if this will prevent the grass from clogging once it gets to the chute.

I would consider myself to be technical in nature but it still took me about an hour to install. However, once installed, it works great. It is simple to remove the bagger and chute cover should you need to use another attachment like a spreader.

Arnold MTD 190-180 grass bagger,

Probably the most confusing thing about this prodoct is that it is designed to adapt to a multitude of machines of varying age. Depending on how old you mower is you may have to do some adapting. My machine was new this spring and the bagger went on with no problems. The first run was a complete sucess. It's a rather pricey attachment but it does exactly what it's supposed to do.

Riding Lawn Mower Bag,
This review is from: Arnold OEM-190-180 FastAttach Twin Bag Grass Collector (Lawn & Patio)
I bought a Bronco Lawnmower from Lowes a couple months ago, and decided to put off getting the Bagger because I thought I could get it cheaper on line.I did find it less, and was pleasantly suprised with how easy it was to put together. It didn't require the use of any tools, and took me less the 5 minutes. |
