5.0 out of 5 stars Best of Both Worlds
This is a great toaster & oven. Makes everyone in the house happy since half wanted a toaster the other wanted a toaster/oven. All features work great, toasts great and heats up quickly. The only downside is that the timer is loud. Previous person who rated this item stated that it failed after 2 months.. the product comes with a 90 warrenty...

1.0 out of 5 stars more like a warming oven then toaster oven
I recieved this oven for Christmas. This is a sharp looking unit but VERY slow to toast just about anything. My husband prefers toaster slots and I like the oven rack - if they would both work - it could be a great unit. The interior is very small with a rack that can not be adjusted. I think I could toast bread faster with a flash light then with this oven. Not worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is the worst appliance I have ever bought, December 27, 2004
This review is from: Aroma ABT218SB Toaster/Toaster Oven (Kitchen)
I bought this product less than 1 year ago and both the toaster and the toaster oven portions do not work. This is positively the worst product I have ever owned.

Bought one, the toaster only toasted on one side. Amazon sent us a replacement, the toaster didn't work at all. We're giving up and buying a different brand.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thought it was great, but not really., January 14, 2004

Great idea but the toaster side broke within two months of purchase (only toasts on one side) and the toaster oven doesn't toast evenly (bottom is lighter).

I love the concept but in reality it needs some fine tuning. Both the toaster & the oven are extremely slow. Even on a low setting the toaster dries the bread before toasting it, which makes some very crunchy toast-not as bad as melba toast, but more like garlic toast.

I coldn't get mine returned fast enough.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY, September 22, 2004
This review is from: Aroma ABT218SB Toaster/Toaster Oven (Kitchen)
This thing worked fine at the beginning, but after a few months the oven would toast the bread only on one side, the other side would not cook at all...it wouldn't melt the cheese on the pizza... etc... After a couple months of this the oven quit working all together. The toaster part works, we can toast 2 breads at a time, but who needs such a big oven to use just the 2 slice toaster. I spent $70 on this oven and it didn't last a year......I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!

This item does exactly what you would expect. It is a toaster and a toaster oven. I have had no problems and like the look of the item in our kitchen. I like the guides on the back of the oven to keep you from puting it too close to a wall- very practical feature to keep the house from burning down. As far as toaster ovens go, this is the best of the three I have owned. I have not encountered any of the aforementioned problems as of yet (after owning for over 2 months) but time will tell, I guess.

3.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, toasts slow., April 1, 2004
This review is from: Aroma ABT218SB Toaster/Toaster Oven (Kitchen)
PRO's - Looks cool. I like the little button that makes the toast pop up if you want it sooner than you've set the timer. The oven part keeps a fairly constant temp if you want to slowly heat something or keep it warm. I like the timer dial has numbers for the number of minutes you want to keep it on.

CONS - surface gets VERY hot. My last toaster oven (black and decker I think) I could pick the thing up, touch it anywhere and it was never this hot. If you have the oven part turned on a few minutes later you will not be able to touch the oven to move it on your counter. Be careful. On the back of the oven there are little plastic rods that stick out so you can't push it all the way up against the wall - I think this is because it gets so hot it might melt the cord on the back. You can almost see the little plastic things I'm talking about in the picture. The timer is a stinking wind up timer that you hear going "tick, tick, tick,...". The toaster is incredibly slow. Be prepared to wait 5 minutes (an eternity, believe me) for a lousy piece of toast in the toaster section.

All in all its not bad. For the people trying to bake cookies in a toaster oven all I have to say is, "what are you stupid?"

3.0 out of 5 stars Stubborn handle, April 13, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Aroma ABT218SB Toaster/Toaster Oven (Kitchen)
This is such a neat toaster, I got it at my bridal shower, and was so excited to use it. And it worked great the first few times. But the on the toaster part of it... the handle that you press down to push the bread into the toasting slots wouldn't stay down. I had to push over and over again before it finally decided to stay and toast my bread. It doesn't happen everytime, but is very annoying. but the oven part of it has been wonderful, and I haven't had any problems with it at all.
