5.0 out of 5 stars Great little juicer!
When I first opened the box, I thought, uh oh, seems rather cheap. But it is great! It just zips through the oranges! I wanted something that would be quick and easy for my family to whip up a fresh glass of juice in the morning, and this is does the job. The motor for the juicer broke within seconds of being turned on for the first time. The juicer was not handled by me in any way that was rough that would cause the motor to break within seconds of the juicers first use. I started pushing an orange onto the juicer and there was a clicking or snapping sound in the motor. The motor did not turn on after that. I would...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little juicer!, April 18, 2011

When I first opened the box, I thought, uh oh, seems rather cheap. But it is great! It just zips through the oranges! I wanted something that would be quick and easy for my family to whip up a fresh glass of juice in the morning, and this is does the job. My 4 yr old granddaughter was thrilled to make her own juice, it is that easy. I like that the juice drips down into a pitcher that pops off the base and can be put on the table for breakfast. It puts a lot of pulp in the juice, but we like pulp. If you don't, it is simple enough to pour it through a strainer or colander before you drink it. This little baby takes those citrus fruits right down to the rind, so you have to watch you don't over-juice and make your juice bitter. Quite powerful!

I already have one of the big boys - a Breville juice extractor. Love it! But who wants drag that big heavy thing onto the counter, then peel oranges in the morning just to get a glass of juice? This is quick, easy, and a great bargain as well. You don't need to spend a fortune to get a great product. We have made a full pitcher of juice in a couple of minutes without any slowing down of the motor. There are two sizes of reamers, which is handy. And it fits compactly under my counter.

Just a note if you get one - there is a tiny band of cardboard that secures the motor for shipping. It is on the center post under the place where the reamers fit on. If you don't remove it, the motor won't come on when you push down on the reamer to make juice. I thought the machine was broken when I first tried to use it, and there is no mention of this thing on the instructions. As for the shipping, it came in just a couple of days, which I appreciated.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent little machine., February 13, 2011

I have very productive grapefruit, orange, and lime trees on my property and this year has been the best ever. This little machine does all it promises to do. I like the pulp so I just remove
the few seeds I get in the filter and pour in the leftover pulp, filling half gallon bottles of the orange and grapefruit juices without a wimper from this little $15 baby. Cleaning is a snap under the faucet and air drying before I put the machine away. I just wish I hadn't waited so long. Incidently, I have 2 or 3 appliances from Aroma and have had excellent results.

I would have given the juicer zero stars, but giving an item zero stars is not an option.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent juicer for the money, May 23, 2011

For the price, I'm happy with this juicer. I've had a similar one of a different brand in the past (Black & Decker), and after an initial use this Aroma juicer seems comparable. I used it to juice 2" limes for margaritas, and the smaller reaming attachment worked well. The motor is loud, a bit louder than my old juicer, but it gets the job done. Cleaning was easy. The cord keeper feature is nice for tidy storage. If anything goes wrong in the near future, I'll post again, but based on my initial use, I recommend this juicer to anyone who wants an electric option for casual use without breaking the bank.

This is the third one of these we have owned. Each lasts about 10 years of pretty heavy use when lemons are season. It works great to juice and separate most of the seeds. I freeze 1 cup of lemon juice in a quart ziplock bag to make use of the lemonade during the year. Just add 1 c sugar and 2 quarts water. Perfect!

5.0 out of 5 stars juicer review, August 29, 2010
This review is from: Aroma ACJ-181 1-Liter Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
We were pretty impressed with the juicer for the price, and it sure beats squeezing all the lemons by hand. Making lemonade is so much faster and we get a lot more juice with the juicer than by doing it by hand. We found that it is a lot easier with lemons to squeeze them just a tiny bit before you put them on the juicer. It is pretty small and compact, and the only negative is that with lemons several seeds still manage to work their way into the juice in the bottom tank, but you can easily strain them out or scoop them out.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is the worst juicer, October 12, 2011

As another reviewer experienced, it broke on the first use. The gear stripped itself out and wouldn't rotate again. I had to send it back. This is the third "cheapie" handy juicer I have had in the past six months. I wanted a handy juicer for making a quick morning juice and for when I'm cooking. My food processor has a citrus juicer and an extractor on it, so I didn't want to have another big electrical item to pull out for just a simple glass of juice. These smaller juicers are cheap and poorly made. They are a waste of time and money. I ended up getting a non-electrical handy juicer from Oxo. It is GREAT! Not too hard on the hands for pressing down and does exactly what you need it to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite for citrus juice, September 30, 2011

I love making lemonade and many other juices. I have few different juicers, but this one is my favorite for juicing a lemon for lemonade and oranges for orange juice because it keeps the skin away, and very easy to clean

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money!, January 20, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Aroma ACJ-181 1-Liter Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
This juicer was disappointing from the time I opened the box. The first thing I noticed was that the item didn't seem to fit the box correctly ... a sure sign that someone had opened and returned it once already. The chip in the plastic confirmed that suspicion. I thought I would go ahead and set it up anyway and see if it would work for my needs. I noticed in setting it up that there was a severe "wobble" in the center shaft. I am no repair person, but even I know that the center shaft should be straight and secure and not wobble from side to side. I went ahead and tried it because I had a big bowl of oranges ready to be juiced. While the thing did manage to extract the juice from half a dozen oranges, it made quite a loud racket in the process. Additionally, the parts fit together in such a sloppy manner that all of the seeds fell right back into the juice! I purchased this juicer to replace my old Black and Decker that finally died after several years. The Aroma ACJ-181 juicer is on its way back to Amazon as I write this review - and I plan to order another Black and Decker. I gave this product one star because there was no option to give zero.

I love orange juice & i love this juicer. This is my first juicer & I was skeptical about quality of it because of it's low price. But I must say that I am very impressed with it. It makes juice really fast & it's damn easy to clean. I don't use dishwasher. Simply love it.
