5.0 out of 5 stars Product Even Better Than Advertised
I needed urns that would keep beverages hot for an outdoor 5 hour gathering in 30 some degree weather. Over months of searching online and in stores could only find commercial urns that cost $1000.00 or more or could rent them for a good bit of money from caterers. 3.0 out of 5 stars Stainless - A little misleading
I bought this for a club and wanted a stainless steel inside liner.
The product was described as double-walled stainless steel coffee urn.
The outer wall was a very thin stainless wrap.
The inner liner was another material - perhaps a coated aluminum.
Since it was better than the worn out one we were replacing and better than an all aluminum one...

I needed urns that would keep beverages hot for an outdoor 5 hour gathering in 30 some degree weather. Over months of searching online and in stores could only find commercial urns that cost $1000.00 or more or could rent them for a good bit of money from caterers. A week before the event the insulated Aroma ACU-040 started popping up online. The manufacturers, Aroma, do not do a good job of describing what this urn is capable of. However, being desperate for affordable urns that could be used now and for future occasions I took a gamble and bought two and it paid off handsomely.

The urns are sturdy, but light weight. Very easy to use - place basket and stem inside, coffee placed in basket (no filter needed), and plug in. That's it and in 30 minutes you have 40 cups of coffee.

Now for the interesting part that the manufacturers missed out on. The instructions would have you keeping the urn plugged in. This is easy when you have a power source, but our function was outside near no power source. Coffee was made in both urns before the event and transported to the site. We took a converter that hooked up to a car engine for a power source and kept one urn plugged in, but we also left one urn in the car receiving no power. When the urn receiving no power for 5 hours was brought out for use the coffee inside was HOT, not warm, but HOT!

Impressive points: The insultation works. If the urn remains plugged in for many hours the coffee stays fresh tasting and it's temperature is regulated. If the urn is filled with fresh brewed coffee and then sits unplugged in 30 some degree weather for 5 hours the coffee is still HOT. Also, I saved at least $900 dollars by buying two of these instead of the next cheapest insulated urn I could find.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good pot!, January 5, 2007

This is a good coffee pot. I purchased this for the patients in our hospital. It has been making one to two pots of coffee a day. Nothing has broke or stopped operating after nearly a year. I like the cool touch sides and feel more comfortable with this feature around our patients. It operates just like our old traditional style but I like the cool touch and stainless steel features much better than the traditional urn.

Aluminium core, not good for your body.
Need to be stainless steel, therefore I returned it!

The product was described as double-walled stainless steel coffee urn.
The outer wall was a very thin stainless wrap.
The inner liner was another material - perhaps a coated aluminum.
Since it was better than the worn out one we were replacing and better than an all aluminum one available in a local store, and I was in a hurry,
I decided to keep it.

I have used this product for 2 months and have not had any problems with it.
It is well made and does what it is meant to do.
There are no filters for the coffee basket so you should use a coarser
grind with this type of percolator. The water heats up just below the boiling point and stays hot as long as you keep it plugged in. There is
no automatic turnoff.

4.0 out of 5 stars disappopinted, February 8, 2008
This review is from: Aroma ACU-040 Caffee Centro Professional Coffee Urn (Kitchen)
The problem was we used the Urn for about 26 hours, only to boil water. After we disconnected and disposed of the remaining water, we saw a brownish discloroation inside the urn, up to the level my wife filled it. Maybe it's not harmful, but we were uncomfortable with this. For all we know maybe something peeled off. We have had other urns over the years of other brands, only for boiling water. We never saw it like this before.

Your urn is beautiful design and boiled the water to a good hot temperature.

you should check out why the urn did this in the inside.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff, September 15, 2008
I have been realy satisfied with this product. We run that maker 24/7 and it does the job great. It is a fine art figuring out how much coffee to put in the basket but once you figure it out themaker is well worth the small price.
