The biggest plus is the very reasonable price (in the $50's when I bought it). Also, it works fairly quickly--1/2 hour for full pot--and keeps the coffee hot even when unplugged for several hours. But...you get what you pay for: It does feel a bit flimsy. I chose this one because I wanted stainless steel, but it is so lightweight it feels like aluminum. In fact my unit arrived dented and had to be replaced by the seller. I agree with other reviewers about the spigot. It's weird and people have a hard time figuring out how to dispense the coffee AND the coffee comes out quite slowly. It IS dripless as advertised however. The window that shows how much coffee is left registers empty when the level is below 14 cups, but you can tilt the unit to get the rest of the coffee out. I used almost twice as much coffee grounds as suggested in the manual (I like strong coffee) and added a flattened coffee filter to the bottom of the perk basket, resulting in a very decent brew.

I searched all over to find a smaller urn that was stainless steel, would brew quickly, and have an insulated exterior and this was the best one I found!

This is a good unit at a good price. The only comment is that the delivery valve is not the standard "push the lever down" type. You have to learn to squeeze the 2 levers together. This is generally no problem, but you have to teach your guests how to operate.

The pot works well. There is lots of room below the valve to put a large cup. This is usually an issue with these type pots. The pot makes a great cup of coffee(40) in a very reasonable time.It is easy to clean....all stainless. The drip plate under the valve is really a nice feature.

I recommend this pot.

I like that it is insulated, one of the few that is. It also has plenty of room to put a coffee cup under the spigot. Unfortunately, the third time we used it the handle broke and we returned it. I am going to give it another try since I liked it so much and will post another review when the 2nd one comes in.

I was concerned that the spighot would be as complicated as other reviewers made it seem. This is not a concern whatsoever.
It is a safety feature in that a child won't be able to pull the handle and get burned. I am
not the brightest person and it took me about 5 seconds to figure out how to get the spighot to work.
Another false claim from a previous reviewer is that you would have to tilt the machine to get out the last 10-15 cups. This is simply not true. My first pot was only 14 cups and it poured out quickly without any tilting. The last falsehood regarding this urn is that the inside is aluminum. That is 100% false. It is brushed stainless on the exterior and the inner chamber is stainless steel. The double wall construction keeps the urns exterior cool to the touch (another safety feature!)
One of my favorite features is indicator light that lets you know your coffee is ready. This is an excellent urn that I highly recommend.

This product is aluminum in side which is what we were trying to avoid. It also burned out after a few months. Started to leak, the plastic top became warped. I would not buy it again.

I purchased this urn to make coffee for the group I camp with, making anywhere from 20 cups to a full pot. It is doing a great job and if you are considering buying it, you can't go wrong.

I bought this product after much research on many coffee makers similar to this one. I read the reviews of this one in particular and was concerned with the nozzle as well, but bought it anyway. I have to say that this coffee maker hasn't disappointed yet. We use this two days a week for two and a half hours serving up to 40 people. It has held up with high use during that time and maintains a hot temperature while in use. Once people get familiar with the nozzle, this is not an issue. The only complaint, which is minor, is that it is extremely hot on the outside for when it's time for cleaning. I have to be careful handling during the cleaning process. Nothing has warped on the product for we wash it by hand and all the parts and light indicators still remain effective. Great purchasing experience for me and would definitely buy again.

We used this "40-cup Coffee Urn" for serving hot water in parties. The stainless construction is healthy. It works very well. Since we use it for parties only, I can not evaluate its reliability for daily use. The spigot (valve) works well for our guests.

Bought this because it got good reviews and seemed like a good buy. The spigot handle is crap - hard to use, comes off easily, hard to put back on. Had to buy another coffee maker after 2 months. Would not recommend except for very light usage. However, if they put on a standard, heavy-duty spigot, it would be a big improvement.
