Customer Reviews

It cooks evenly and is easy to clean.
N Norris
Very heavy grade of stainless and easy to clean--just use a little more effort than you would with a non stick surface.
Lois
The temperature control seems to be either "off" or "on" = blazing hot.

Our Faberware electric skillet after 34 years finally had to be replaced. One of the legs broke off and was unrepairable. We use our electric skillet all the time and I wanted the replacement to be stainless steel, we purchased the Aroma because of that. The choice of stainless steel skillets are so limited. We have used it numerous times. We loved our Faberware skillet. This one is not has deep but was still able to cook a large pot roast. It heats evenly and food sticking is at a minimum. The only drawbacks are that the lid handle conducts heat so you have to use a pot holder to remove it and it cleans easily but there are vents in the bottom of the skillet so water can get inside where the element is, unlike the Faberware that was enclosed. Still pretty pleased with it overall.

I decided to try a skillet that didn't have the non-stick coating, as they all just start flaking off, and are very unhealthy. This skillet had no reviews on it yet, so I was very hesitant on purchasing it. I have no regrets, not only is it a nice looking skillet, but it heats up fast and evenly. It is definitely a keeper. Cleaning is a snap.

A really nice looking skillet and it seems to clean easily with baking soda. However, as another reviewer commented, it is extremely hot at the lowest temp, a distinct disadvantage. I can't see myself ever using the pan at a higher temperature than 225! Who tests these things? Obviously something is wrong in the manufacture of the pan itself or the temperature control. The price was reasonable, but what good is this skillet going to be to me when the lowest temperature is already too hot!? I would not have purchased this pan at any price, had I known.

Beware of this item. It's attractive. It's stainless steel and should be healthy to use.
And it burns everything you try to cook.
I've tried three times and ruined three meals. No matter what you set the control at it goes to full throttle and won't back off.
What a disappointment.
I've owned many electric cooking appliances and this is the worst.
Mine is going to the dumpster.
I'd rate it a minus 5 if available.

It is very difficult to find a stainless steel electric skillet that isn't coated with something. The power control on the last one I owned finally gave up after over 10 years of almost daily use. This one looks almost exactly like that one even though the brand is different and (in the month I've had it) has performed well. I'm expecting a long relationship.

Cooked a meal in the skillet. After it cooled down, I cleaned the base. When I picked the lid up by the handle, the glass around the handle disintegrated leaving a large hole; the rest of the lid was completely filled with cracked glass. I had to throw out the lid, but I did take some pictures of the mess. I had used the skillet without the lid several times, but this was the very first time that I used the lid. Temperature was between 200 and 225 degrees.

Learned that a lubricant must be used when cooking - Pam, butter, etc., if not, food will stick. Temp hot at 200 - 225; would not want to use at higher temp. Cooking with a sauce seems to work well. If not using a sauce, I believe that food will stick, perhaps burn even at low temps. Why two stars? It makes a nice visual presentation.

Previously I have used two "coated" electric skillets; have to say that both were much better than this one. Overall, I am very disappointed in the unit. I may continue to use the base unit; I cannot return it to mfg since I had to throw out the damaged lid. I also have to question the quality of the stainless steel. In my mind this is a case of buyer beware.

Update - Contacted the distributor/manufacturer regarding this problem. I explained what had happened and that the lid had been thrown out under the circumstances. They were very nice and requested that I send the photos. They immediately forwarded another lid to me, no charge. Have not had occasion to use the skillet since I received the new lid. Hopefully I will not have the same or similar experience the next time that the skillet and lid are used.

12/17/13 - Skillet now in garbage. Other people may have had better luck, but this is one product that didn't work for me.

I purchased the skillet to use at a Demo to cook frozen quick meals. I was impressed with how quickly it cooked the food and the ease of use. You have to try the different temperatures to make sure you don't cook the food to fast or scorch the pan. The pan was easy to clean with my natural green cleaners (baking soda, castille soap and vinegar). The green cleaner keeps the shine in the stainless steel pan and the baking soda provides a non-scouring clean.
I liked the size of the pan as well. I think it is a quality product and affordable. I recommend it!

This Skillet is great. I don't need to worry about scratching the nonstick coating because it is 100% Stainless Steel. It is very sturdy and looks like it will last me a lifetime. Very little plastic. The handles are all Stainless Steel and very tough. My wife likes to use metal cooking utensils and so nonstick just is not an option in my house. The polished Stainless cleans up just as easy anyway. I would never go back to those plastic and aluminum things I had in the past. This is what every electric skillet should be.
