Ok... I love this little thing. Another reviewer said that this doesn't get hot. Well, that's not... completely true. You must leave the unit on for a while (after you fill it and follow instructions of course). I usually make little potpourri concoctions on the weekends and fill it in the morning. I unplug it before bed. When you leave it on all day, the smell is the strongest. However, I would highly recommend using essential oils in this. Only a few drops of a good quality essential oil, like the ones from Now Foods on Amazon, will really smell strongly! I get a much stronger smell from water and a few drops of that than all the orange peels and vanilla extract mixtures I make. That's just me though. I get way more bang for my buck with those essential oils. All in all this is a great product because there are many different mixtures that you can try. You can get potpourri recipes all over the internet and really have fun with this. It may not necessarily work better than my lampe orleans (off brand of lampe berger that I love), but it's waaaayyyy easier I don't have to light it, wait for it to burn, blow it out, and then wonder whether it's still burning. I know my little crock is working just fill with water, few drops of essential oil, and presto! I like using it on days when company is coming over or when I've just finished cleaning my house. It just adds that something extra that makes you feel like you've really done a good job...it's clean and it even smells great in here! (I've even added my lampe orleans liquid stuff to the water in this thing...that works well too! I'm not sure if that's in accordance with manufacturer instructions though. I also add the essential oils to my rainbow vacuum. I have a German Shepherd over 100 pounds that's indoors 90% of the time and no one can ever smell her!) You want to get compliments on your clean house? Use this and a rainbow vacuum. Unbeatable combination.

I now have two of these little potpourri pots. The first was purchased at a local store over 3 years ago and is still going strong but I wanted a second one and no one seemed to carry it any longer. I looked everywhere before going online and luckily finding it! I love my home to smell "inviting" so I have both pots plugged in ( one upstairs and one downstairs )to go on at different times with timers...filled with liquid potpourri! I also like the fact that they're very simple and attractive...I'm not one for flowers or objects printed on things! People who come into my home always comment on how great it smells! Great little pot!

I have been having this item for quite a few years...of course it was most likely manufactured better as is generally the case. The best way that I use mine: Save all scented wax from old candles --re melt in double broiler, then pour in paper/wax dixie cups to cool. Just tear off cup, plop wax in simmering pot and await the aroma. This method I have found goes a long way, and WE are recycling.

This is a wonderful product and great alternative instead of burning candles. I use them to melt candles in and/or liquid potpourri for home air freshner. I used to purchase these from our local Walmart stores, but they quit carrying them and no other area stores carry them either. I own one and wanted to purchase more for gifts and also for myself. Surfed the 'net and found Amazon carried them. Totally elated about this discovery!! Have ordered more and couldn't be happier.

It is a nice looking pot--I just can smell anything coming out of it unless I stick my nose next to it. It sure doesn't fill the room with wonderful smells.

THIS IS A GOOD POT FOR POTPOURRI, IT LASTS ALL DAY, THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE A ON OFF SWITCH. I THINK THIS WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO THIS PRODUCT.

The potpourri pot is very aesthetically appealing on a countertop. It gives a pleasant scent to whatever potpourri you put in it. Scent will linger for hours. Use in my kitchen to accent my appliances which are same color. But nice addition to any room. Short cord so must be plug in right next to electrical socket.

What a shame! This little potpourri pot was exactly what I was looking for to replace an old one (that I should never have gotten rid of!). The size is perfect, small enough for just about any surface in any room, and the lid prevents any splatters onto furniture. Was not nuts about the stainless steel finish, too kitcheny, would prefer a pretty design, but that's not a big deal. The problem with this little pot was that it did not get hot enough to diffuse the oil scent into even a small space! So, it is useless. I returned it. Haven't decided whether to try another of the same (maybe this one was defective?) or just continue looking for a better product. sigh. Amazon was great about the return, as always. Gave the pot two stars anyway because of its potential.

I've had this for about a month, and am very happy with it. It was reasonably priced and I think it does a great job of making my house smell nice. I put cinnamon and cloves in water, and I can smell it on the whole main floor of the house (kitchen, living room, dining room and office).

The potpourri pot arrived when expected, but the top of the pot which was ceramic, was broken and shattered. It can't be used without the top, so is useless. Did not want to spend the money to return it, as the item didn't cost much. I was very disappointed.
