4.0 out of 5 stars A good all-purpose cooker
I have had this rice and pasta cooker for several weeks, and I get a lot of use out of it. I love that I can cook rice and steam vegetables at the same time with it. The non-stick surface actually works! I have had no need at all to scrub or scrape at it. I have had this rice and pasta cooker for several weeks, and I get a lot of use out of it. I love that I can cook rice and steam vegetables at the same time with it. The non-stick surface actually works! I have had no need at all to scrub or scrape at it. Even when I've forgotten half a pot of rice on the counter overnight, the dried up rice just falls right out of the pot. It also works better than my stovetop for making pasta -- I use wheatless pastas made of rice or corn, and they can be a little tricky to cook.
It's rather expensive, but so far I have really enjoyed having it. I had a cheaper rice cooker before, and it was ok, but this really is a lot better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the extra $, February 28, 2010

I love my Aroma ARC-560 pasta and rice cooker. I've had mine for over a year now, and it always makes perfect rice. The product description adequately describes the contents, so I won't go into that.

I bought the cooker because it makes brown rice, however I have not made brown rice in it yet. I fell in love with jasmine rice right after I bought the cooker. The keep warm feature works great...I don't have to be so accurate in my finishing times. The sides of the rice pot are marked, so it's super easy to set it up.

As with many rice cookers, you can use this one as a steamer. It comes with a steamer basket that you can place over the rice to cook both at the same time. You can also use the pasta colander as a steamer basket, so you can steam two levels of food at the same time.

I also bought it for the pasta cooker feature. As a pasta cooker it has plenty of volume for family dinner, and frees up a stove top burner for other things.

Clean up is easy. The rice pot and pasta colander are large, but they fit in the dishwasher OK. They are easy to clean by hand, too.

I'm online today buying another one...as a wedding gift for a friend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great rice and pasta cooker, February 24, 2011

I purchased the Aroma ARC-560 Rice Pasta Gourmet Rice & Pasta Cooker and am very happy with it. I've cooked both rice dishes and pasta dishes in it and they came out delicious. I'm kind of a lazy cook, so I've been using the all in one pot recipes I found on the Aroma web site so far. The recipes are easy but yet very tasty. I highly recommend this rice & pasta cooker.

We were looking for an attractive stainless steel rice cooker that we could also use as a vegetable steamer, something we could keep out on the counter and would look good in our kitchen. Our old roommate had a cheap Aroma model from Target that worked perfectly, and this model looked good, so I was excited to give this product a try.

The looks did not disappoint - this is an attractive model. We have now tried brown rice in it once and white rice 4 times. Each time, any rice that's touching the sides comes out bunt, stuck together, and crunchy. This is a big problem, because you end up with chunks of crunchy burnt crap in a bowl of otherwise fluffy delicious rice. We've been careful to follow the instructions and measure everything precisely, and we never had this problem with our roommate's cheapo Target model. For whatever it's worth, the steamed veggies are delicious. Too bad, back it goes....

5.0 out of 5 stars The best steamer I've ever owned., August 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Aroma ARC-560 Rice Pasta Gourmet Rice & Pasta Cooker (Kitchen)
Over the last 10 years, I have owned approximately 4 different food steamers. And I must say that this particular Aroma food steamer is the best by far. The only real downside to this model is that it does not have it's own timer. But what kitchen doesn't have an alternative timer readily available? So to me, it's just a minor flaw. The PROS on this food streamer is that it uses a stainless steel food tray rather than the traditional plastic tray found in most food steamers. It also steams food faster and more evenly and best of all, it's easy to use, and extremely easy to clean. I practically use the steamer each and every day and would recommend it to anyone that wants to purchase food steamer.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect rice-cooker, February 28, 2011

This review is from: Aroma ARC-560 Rice Pasta Gourmet Rice & Pasta Cooker (Kitchen)
We use brown rice and this cooker has an electronic control that lets you set your preference for white or brown rice. The instructions are simple and the rice cooks perfectly every time. A bonus is that you can also use this unit to boil your pasta (which frees up a space on your stove when cooking dinner) and can also be used as a steamer. This was a gift to replace an older "standard" rice cooker; it is a 1000% better up-grade.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boil Over Mess!!, August 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Aroma ARC-560 Rice Pasta Gourmet Rice & Pasta Cooker (Kitchen)
This cooker I feel is not worth the money. My daughter and I have used the cooker. She made pasta and I made rice. Both times the directions were followed for adding the proper amount of water. Both times the cooker boiled over and flooded the counter top with a starch water mess. I told my wife that it is a $100 P.O.S. and if she uses it to place it in the sink so when it boils over the mess will go down the drain.

There are far more better products from Aroma than this rice cooker!!

I used it once and it didn't work the next time around, returned it to Amazon and still waiting on the refund.
