a piece of junk!,

This review is from: Aroma ARC7031G 6-Cup Rice Cooker and Food Steamer (Kitchen)
Don't waste your money. I bought this because it was small and I wanted a rice cooker that would make 3 cups and take up less storage space than the bigger ones.
It burns the rice every time no matter how much I adjust the water ratio. And brown rice - forget it, even more burned on the bottom. You have to watch it instead of being able to rely on it doing what it says it will do. It has yet to turn out 'perfect rice.' If I could rate this a zero I would.

This products is horrible. It burns the rice and the heat actually bend the insert so the lid would not fit anymore and after using it only a handful of times it stopped working. It is really terrible would give it zero but there is no option.

Terrible and Cheap,

This rice cooker was terrible. The cook button would not stay down, and so I had to hold it until I thought the rice was done. I bought this unit at the nearby Target store, and I noticed a few others were returned as well. Avoid this rice cooker and get something better.

wrong product description,
This review is from: Aroma ARC7031G 6-Cup Rice Cooker and Food Steamer (Kitchen)
The product description states it is a six cup rice cooker but it is a THREE cup cooker.
The product itself is good but the description is a misleading that should be avoid in any case.

Cheaply made,

I bought this rice cooker because I wanted something small and all other ones I looked at are more appropriate for a family of ten. It is cheaply made and broke after less than a year of use.

Great for other things besides rice,
By
This review is from: Aroma ARC7031G 6-Cup Rice Cooker and Food Steamer (Kitchen)
I got this because it was cheap and it had the steamer inserts. I also found out that it doesn't cook rice well, BUT it's great for a host of other things, and basically it's great for using in lieu of a slow cooker, so anything else you can cook in a slow cooker you can use this for as well.
Use the steamer insert (I got two in the box) - Steam Veggies - Steam Dumplings - Steam Fish - Steam Asian buns Or use the rice cooker and make meals like: - Soups - Stews

Not fancy, but a mainstay,
This review is from: Aroma ARC7031G 6-Cup Rice Cooker and Food Steamer (Kitchen)
I'm on my second one - the first lasted five years. For two people and weekly use, it's held up very well for it's price. Rice can stick to the bottom of the pan, but a little soaking or a shot or two of Power Dissolver does the trick just fine. I've had no problems with jasmine, basmati, sushi, arborio or brown rice, and I also do couscous and soups in it.
I'm very pleased with it. A nice trick is lining the steamer basket with lettuce and herbs.

I was shocked by this rice cooker twice. It is not properly grounded and I would not recommend it to anyone.

It cooks rice...what more do you want?,

This cooker works just fine. I had the same rice cooker for over 20 years (gave it to my daughter) almost exactly the same thing as this version, except mine dinged when the rice was ready - this gets 4 stars for no ding! Here is how to fix rice in a rice cooker - follow these directions and you'll be fine. (believe me, we ate rice like other folks eat bread or potatoes)
#1 use the measuring cup provided and fill only till level with the top of the cup, don't heap the rice. Get a tin or plastic container to keep your rice in, throw the measuring cup in it and always use that. #2 fill the water to the corresponding # for the number of provided measuring cups you used (a little above or below the line depending on the rice or how sticky you like it) #3 turn on the cooker You don't need to rinse 99% of rice, do it if you prefer, but it's not necessary in most cases. (I use a Japanese brand that says "don't rinse" right on the package) DO NOT USE A REGULAR MEASURING CUP and then fill it to the corresponding line. Three regular measuring cups of rice is a lot more rice than 3 of the little cups that comes with the cooker. A little brown crusty rice on the bottom of the cooker (not sure how you get this with the nonstick kind, I miss it) is supposed to lend flavor to the rice, just don't scoop it up. That's it - the cooker works, if you follow those three simple steps.

This review is from: Aroma ARC7031G 6-Cup Rice Cooker and Food Steamer (Kitchen)
I have owned this product for 2-3 yrs and after using it 10+ times the cooking surface has began coming off into the rice. It will cook perfect rice if you know how to use it. Target- returns hah!
