Great value!!,
This review is from: Aroma 3 Quart or 4-20 Cups Rice Cooker & Food Steamer with Sensor Logic Technology - Recipe Book Included
We got this rice cooker from Costco for $30 and let me tell you it is the best $30 I have ever spent. In fact I would have paid a $100 or more for this cooker. We've only had it for 2 months and use it almost daily. It makes perfect rice every time. There are seperate functions for brown and white rice. However I find the brown rice still comes out pretty darn good in the white rice mode. A definate improvment from other cookers we had that would leave the brown rice hard and crunchy.I read some reviews of this cooker burning rice if left in the warm mode too long. The longest we've left it to warm was 5hrs and we didn't have any problems. Maybe if we left it longer it might have burned, but who knows.

I had sticker shock when I first saw this product but fell in LOVE and use it at least once a week. I swore by my old rice cooker/steamer and even had a separate crock pot, but when my old rice cooker died-I decided to UPGRADE-and boy did I ever!I toss all the ingredients in the night before, set the timer and when I wake up for work (which is way too early these days), ta-da like magic everything is ready. This makes mornings a lot easier and meals healthier-no more excuses to eat cafeteria or fast food mystery meat. My only little wish is if it if came with a lid that worked for the metal container inside so I quickly stick the left overs in the fridge. So get over the sticker shock and fall in love with Aroma's best kept all in one secret-it pays for itself-and the 20 minutes I get to sleep in.

Very good rice cooker!,

I like the way that it cooks rice. I haven't tried anything unusual or adventurous in it yet, but it does do a very good job at basic rice cooking. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I have noticed that the rice begins to brown in the stay warm mode. I don't usually need that, so I just unplug mine when it gets done. I think that the drain away feature that it has for the condensation liquid basically draws out a lot of the residual moisture from the rice and causes it to brown much faster. I still look forward to trying out new things in it. The recipe book has a few good ideas. I also plan to try steaming my vegetables with the rice to see if that helps the rice to stay moist when it is done. I also got mine at Costco for less, so if you have a membership, I would recommend checking there first. I am satisfied with my purchase.

This is the first rice cooker I have purchased. I did extensive research online, and read user's reviews carefully, weighing the pros and cons of each cooker. I desired to purchase an economic rice cooker that produced flavorful rice, but was also versatile - one that I could use for steaming veggies & soups. My storage space is precious, so I have to get a lot of bang for my buck - or cabinet space - so to speak! This was an excellent choice!! So easy to use, the rice is perfect, and I am so glad I chose this cooker! I can't wait to try different dishes using this cooker. Excellent choice, at an excellent price!

Much Better Than I Expected,

I've never had a rice cooker before, so didn't know what to expect. I've always stayed away from doing many rice dishes because my rice always came out in a stuck together glob that my wife refused to eat. Not any more. Even I can do great rice now. This thing makes it easy and as long as I follow the directions, it comes out perfect every time.I make mine using chicken broth for the liquid and like others, at first my rice came out overdone, brown and crusty at the bottom, but a couple of weeks ago, I decided to try the Progresso chicken stock and for some reason the problem went away and I haven't had that overdone rice at the bottom since. I don't know if it will work for you, but that's my experience. I'd like to see is a more heavy duty pot and steamer basket. The aluminum non-stick liner they use is very light weight and I dropped it in the sink once while cleaning it out and dented the side. It still works fine, but I wish it was a little more substantial. I'm sure the engineering of it allowed for a specific amount of thickness in the metal to make the cooking times come out right and maintain the quality of the rice and any change in the liner would require changing a lot of other things. I also like the steamer function, but the other problem is the steamer basket that is pretty flimsy and a little difficult to get out of the pot since at the top, it fits flush with the top of the liner and there is no way to grab it. Since everything is hot, a handle or something to grab to lift it out would be nice. It's not metal, so when it gets hot, it's becomes very flexible and hard to handle with one hand. Small nit picks considering how great this thing works.

Great product,

This is my first rice cooker. I had been cooking my rice in the microwave for years. BTW it is easy 1 C rice 3 C water 5 minutes on high 15 minutes on 50% power (white rice only). But this puts microwave rice to shame. And brown rice to perfection! I haven't worked with the slow cooker function yer. I do think Aroma could have provided the user with more info on the screen such as minutes until the rice is complete. As of this writing my local Costco is sold out of this rice cooker.

Love this. My life has changed. I am a better cook now. Perfect every time. Also steams veggies. Love the delay timer. My kids actually get dinner now. Husband loves it. Brother in law loves it. Heck I'm selling tons of these just because others are noticing it in my house. Sooo yummy. Converts to keep warm when rice is done. Didnt want to pay $160 for a Japanese model. Great compromise. Cant imagine the more expensive ones are better. Can use as crock pot too. I got this at Costco off the shelf for $30, beats Amazon price. Top notch. LOOOOOOOVE !!!!!!!!!!!!

Better than most but not stove top quality,
This review is from: Aroma 3 Quart or 4-20 Cups Rice Cooker & Food Steamer with Sensor Logic Technology - Recipe Book Included
I have this rice cooker and have tried two others. I usually cook my rice on the stove because it is softer and stickier. This model does ok but still burns the bottoms. After having dry rice I ignored the lines and went back to 2 to 1 ratio measurements this helps but I have since given up on this rice cooker and cook it on the stove unless I want to leave and have it ready with my crock pot meal. So all in all ok but still looking for a stove top quality rice cooker!

I also bought this at Costco. This is a very fancy looking product and works very well. I used it once as a slow cooker, and once as a white rice cooker. I was startled the first time it beeped to indicate the rice was ready. It sounded like a smoke alarm. But the rice was so perfect - I cant believe I have lived without this! The rice was not burned at all. I gave it a light stir when it was ready and waited 10 minutes on the warm setting before eating. It was nice fluffy and delicious.

Great cooker, just have to pull the rice a little early,

I'm really happy with this cooker. We've even steamed veggies at the same time, and that has worked out great. The only thing I would mention is that the rice browns a little on the bottom, so I pull it out when the timer says it still has about 4 minutes left. The rice is still wonderful, and no brown rice! Really happy with it.
