The Aroma brand of products never disappoints for quality and usability and this oven is no exception.
Basically it sits on your counter. You load the pot with food such as chicken wings or a pork roast or a whole chicken or just about anything.
The lid contains a heater and a fan and it blows superhot air across the food cooking it. It can give the effect of either deep frying without the oil and fat or a rotisserie except you can do it on the countertop with no special equipment.
For the worlds best wing:
3-4 pounds of defrosted chicken wings - whole or separated into wings and drumettes
Spicy Hungarian Paprika
Cayenne - a light sprinkle
a dash of pepper
a dusting of garlic powder to taste
Pack loosely into the turbo over. Roast at high heat ~375-400'F for about 15-20 minutes. Watch them cook.
When done they have this awesome crispy outside with tender juicy meat inside.
I've tried these wings a variety of ways including a regular convection over and somehow they are never as good as with the turbo oven. I think the air circulation is better in the more confined space of the turbo.
This will give you years of delicious fast preparing food for the busy person, and the unit cleans in a snap.
Well worth the price. I just bought another one here from Amazon to replace one I have thats 14 years old. I broke the pot by accident. The heater and turbo unit are still fine and work great.
When I started using the oven I noticed some differences...
First, the power cord is permanently attached to the top heating unit - no more detachable plug. I liked having the detachable plug but it is no deal breaker. Makes me wonder if I was not the only one who had the power cord melting problem.
Secondly, it is much quieter. So much quieter in fact that we thought it wasn't working properly when we got it. We were very wrong as our food cooks way faster with this new model. A definite plus - quieter and cooks better.
All and all we are very happy with the new model although we can't vouch for its longevity yet but it cooks food wonderfully.
One cooking tip (that can used for this or any similar countertop convection over...if you put a heat resistant plate below the lower cooking rack when you cook chicken, steak, or burgers (which cook fantastic by the way) all the grease drips onto the plate (instead of the bottom of the big pot) and cleaning up is a breeze. You literally only have to clean the plate and wipe around the bowl. Very convenient!Read more ›
The amusing thing about this oven is that the day after we arrived, my wife was watching an infomercial for the NuWave oven which is almost exactly the same as this plus a couple more accessories. All of the NuWave recipes will work fine in here. You don't need to spend the extra money unless you really want that expander ring which adds a couple of inches to the height of this unit - that's the one thing I saw that looked decent. I might ask a metal shop nearby to replicate it for me one day.
It does take a while to figure out exactly what the cooking times and temperatures are, so don't be afraid to burn a couple of things on your way to familiarizing yourself with this oven. It really is a smaller, more energy efficient version of your normal stove oven. Treat it the same way as you would your larger friend, and you'll be fine.

This oven is okay. It cooks well, but since there are no clear directions, it is a matter of trial and error - we check the food, then reset the timer and cook some more. Read morePublished on March 22, 2013 by Margaret Ross
