This book does a good job describing almost every illness known to man but offers precious little on the subject matter. Will be donated and search will continue for a good reference book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful reference book!, June 14, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Aromatherapy: An A to Z, Revised Edition (Paperback)
This is one of the first Aromatherapy books I bought and use it constantly. This is a great book when you want more than just a few lines about a certain oil. The formulas/recipes in the back of the book are wonderful too. I recommend this book to anyone interested in aromatherapy...beginners and pro's!

4.0 out of 5 stars great stuff, February 21, 2002
This review is from: Aromatherapy: An A to Z, Revised Edition (Paperback)
i borrowed this book from the library (before i bought it!) and it was a good read. It is thorough, well presented, and has enough recipes to get you started. You are steered on the right path in terms of oils that you should be cautious with ( which is a far cry from the recipes that you get on the 'net that just throws out any oil/herb combination without telling you the risks). For a starter aromatherapist, i can truly say that i do feel confident with the products that i make for myself and my family. It is really worth the price and more. You will find yourself reaching for it over and over again.
The reason why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the illustrations could have been more oraganized, and more attractively done. It may sound like splitting hairs, but if you tried to use the illustrations as a guide for plants for infused oils, you may be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! So Much Information! A Must Have Book!!, September 5, 2008
This book is GREAT! It goes into detail on each essential oil (i.e. origin, scent, flavor, use, warnings, description etc.) This book also goes into detail about various conditions of the body & skin and how the essential oil can remedy or help these situations (i.e. earache, headache, cold, flu, cough, acne, depression, anxiety, PMS, menopause etc.) It has A LOT of information contained in this book. This is definitely not the book you can sit down and read in one day. Very informative- A Must have for anyone interested in essential oils and aromatherapy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy To Understand and Learn From!, May 4, 2009
This review is from: Aromatherapy: An A to Z, Revised Edition (Paperback)
I am very happy with this book! I am a novice essential oil user and this book answers lots of my questions. I sure don't want to make any mistakes and I can go to this book for basic instructions about different oils and illnesses. Which oils to use and how to use them. This book uses words and phrases I understand without a lot of complicated medical lingo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Book with lots of Information, November 27, 2009
This has been my ' go to ' book for essential oils. It is very informative. It tells about the oils, gives a history of uses and lets you know if they are safe for pregnant women and children. It also tells you the strength the oils should be in, for example a 1% dilution, etc. I have several other books, but this is the one I am always reaching for.

I picked up this book without really knowing what I was buying. I am glad that I did. It is jammed with valuable info. I have had it in my library for a couple of years now and it is one that I keep reaching for time and again. It is a book that every aromatherapist should have.
