This review is from: Aromatic Teas and Herbal Infusions (Hardcover)
Beginning with a brief history of where brewing tea started Aromatic Teas and Herbal Infusions is a nice incorporation of colorful pictures and interesting recipes if the lay person can find all the ingredients. Not everything will be found in your cupboard but with access to the internet the reader should be able to find what is needed. The problem that you'll need to remember is the cost. I grow many herbs and have first-hand access to pesticide-free plants. Do you? Also, who has access to cowberry leaves and cherry stems?
I am always concerned when an author gives the reader a recipe to try without exact amounts. Tell me how much zest of lemon... a half teaspoon (?) and should it be from a fresh lemon or can it be dried? When something requires orange blossom water tell me how to make it. Give me alternatives to using sugar cubes such as how much stevia can be used in the recipe. These are little gripes but I think the reader should know this before buying the book.
Ms. Fronty has some unusual tea recipes but, frankly, I was disappointed there weren't more. I would have enjoyed if the author limited the book to tea recipes only with a wider variety to try. There are many better books out there with herbal infusions, homemade potpourris, and massage oils. On the plus side the pictures are wonderful but I would suggest trying to find this book at the library before investing any monies.
