5.0 out of 5 stars Action Packed Suspense
This is an action packed, spine tingling read with danger at every turn, well rounded characters and a ton of passion packed between the pages. It is also one of the January Intrigues Ultimate Heroes collection.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poorly written
It is a mystery how this book was published. The author has very poor sentence structure that does not flow. She uses one sentence for a paragraph, duplicate words in a sentence, uses "much more" one too many times and has endless vocabulary that is found in a "military speak" dictionary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Action Packed Suspense, January 22, 2008
This review is from: Around-The-Clock Protector (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is an action packed, spine tingling read with danger at every turn, well rounded characters and a ton of passion packed between the pages. It is also one of the January Intrigues Ultimate Heroes collection.

Carson Nash is the leader of the 1Aops, a secret team of CIA agents, sent in to extract hostages from difficult situations. Little did he know how different and personal this mission would be when assigned to bring in a fellow agent. Only this agent was no fellow.

Agent Ava Ross is the hostage Carson is sent in to rescue. When he finds out the identity of the hostage, he wonders how that can be because he had read all the reports that she had died in a plane crash four months ago. But she was very much alive. The stakes are high when Carson finds Ava has no memory of him or who she is. When things go wrong they go really wrong. Seems like everyone wants Ava, Russians, CIA and lord knows who else, but Why? Whoa!! wait now there is even more at stake, she is pregnant with is child.

Carson must negotiate a fine line in ensuring Ava's and the baby's safety. He has to find out who wants both Ava and himself dead at all costs. This is a story that takes twists and unexpected turns, which I highly recommend. My hope is that we will have more stories from this author giving us more on the other elite members of this team who we meet along the journey.

It is a mystery how this book was published. The author has very poor sentence structure that does not flow. She uses one sentence for a paragraph, duplicate words in a sentence, uses "much more" one too many times and has endless vocabulary that is found in a "military speak" dictionary.

An ex-military team are suppose to find an agent that is being tortured. They found the agent in a cottage, being tortured with no window coverings so anyone outside the cottage would know what is going inside. Once the good guys get inside, Agent Cyrus Hunt is suppose to rescue the tortured agent. He kept the head cover on the agent and kept the agent tied and called in his boss to do the unveiling. By the "slender ankles" every one can tell he is a she agent. So weak.

Next chapter. The two goofuses are running away from maybe bad guys and she falls to her knees. Carson growls at himself for not giving her a medical assessment. Ava says,"It is nothing that five months won't cure." Men, she thought as she gazed up to Agent Carson Nash (the nth time his name and title has been said). So necessary, but clueless at times. "I am pregnant Agent.... four months along." This awful dialogue and presumptions are throughout the book.

Military speak is overused throughout the book. It was almost like the author had to make up a sentence just to use up the words she had on a cheat sheet. It doesn't work.

I wouldn't buy this book even on discount. Save you money for some other good buys this month and in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars very entertaining, January 17, 2008
This review is from: Around-The-Clock Protector (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
I picked up this book because it received Top Pick from Romantic Times magazine. Danger, passion and great characters, this story has it all. I read it in one sitting. The action scenes are especially well done. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes romantic suspense.

5.0 out of 5 stars OH YES! A PLOT WITH ACTION - JUST WHAT I LIKE., July 12, 2008

Oh come on! A glitch here and there that I didn't even notice.

Characters, folks, that is what holds the action together.

Carson Nash, code name: Marathon - Leader of IAops, a secret team of CIA agents. He's in charge of hostage extraction. Imagine his surprise when he finds out the hostage is some one he thought was dead. He had spent the night with her before her "death".

Mark Jarrett, code name: Nitro - He's the team sniper and the go-to guy for anything that explodes.

Cyrus Hunt, code name: Joker - You definitely want him on your side in a crisis.

Nick Sheby, code name: Domino - a former master of disguise, there are things in his past he would rather forget.

Eli Carico, code name: Tux - A diplomatic affairs expert, he looks good no matter what.

Luke Haden, code name: Doc - Suffering from a guilt trip after a mission gone wrong, he is sitting this one out in Maui.

Jerome Hinshaw - Too smart for his own good and now has disappeared. Has his microchip caused all of these problems.

Doctor Gary Resnick - A man Carson trusts. He is ex-CIA with a closet full of mind experiments. Can he help Ava remember.

CIA director Glendow - He is Ava's boss and wants her brought into the fold.

AVA ROSS - she is supposed to be dead after her plane to Russia crashed.

Although she has resurfaced, she has no memory of what has happened when the limo picked her up. And none of Carson Nash, the possible father of her unborn child.

The plots thickens - she has a fear of returning to the CIA headquarters.

She doesn't trust Nash and proves it several times. [this part I really enjoyed] they are on the run and yet the Russians always seem to be just one step behind them. Nash knows that if he doesn't return with the package he will be branded a rogue and probably shot on sight. [this story would make a very good movie]

What ops guy's story is up next?? Don't you dare stop with this one.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -M - expecially if you like action with your drink. great entertainment.

5.0 out of 5 stars fast-paced suspense, April 16, 2008
This review is from: Around-The-Clock Protector (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
When Carson Nash is ordered to bring a woman in to the CIA, little does he know that she is someone he'd known before or that she's carrying his baby. As they are running to survive, it becomes more and more clear that if he obeys orders, she might just end up dead.

Great internal tension and action scenes.
