I really love this CD. I'm a big Gary Moore and Cream fan, and it was great to hear them play together. Gary and Jack sing well together, and with Ginger, their interplay is superb. Some of the songs sound like Cream (hard not to with 2/3's of the band here)and I think it got some flack with certain reviewers in the papers, but I think Gary's just paying a little homage to Eric Clapton, so he kept it a little restained and played in "his vain of playing". I like the results. I would recommend this imported version as the sound quality is much better plus the studio and live bonus tracks are great. I wish they had a live version of this band on DVD. I saw a video advertised in a British magazine for the Blues for Greeny tour, but that's another one not available to us here in the States.

This CD was made shortly after Gary Moore's rise to blues stardom with his two brilliant solo blues CDs close behind him, "Still Got The Blues" and "After Hours." Thus, Jack Bruce's and Ginger Baker's choice for a guitarist to form with other than Eric Clapton was no doubt a fine one indeed.

Gary Moore is a great guitarist, even if his playing style is quite different from Clapton's. He is a very fast player, a veritable "blueshredder", as I like to call him. On this CD, he noticably restrains from letting loose with his trademark shredding, Baker/Bruce allowing him to let go only at the very end of one song :-)

Comparisons between the music of this group and that of Cream are inevitable, so here goes mine. Other than Moore's presence, the other most noticeable difference is that here, it's more like the Gary Moore Band than another Cream. Jack Bruce does sing lead on some of the songs (a fine job, too, even if his singing is more operatic than bluesy), but Moore stands way out as the musical focal point of the project. Baker's and Bruce's virtuosity that were much exemplified in Cream (particularly in their live recordings) are not too evident on this CD--they are pretty much just providing a solid rhythmic foundation upon which to let Gary strut his stuff. And that's fine--after all, the studio recordings of Cream were much more tame than their live recordings. Personally, I much prefer Cream's live anthology to their studio efforts, so I was a bit disappointed that Baker and Bruce were so laid back here, though I understand that it was more appropriate for them to be so.

There are a couple of live recordings on this re-issued version, just as a matter of variety. Still on those tracks, it's still pretty much all Gary (apart from Bruce singing his legendary version of "Sittin' On Top of the World).

So if you're a fan of Gary Moore, you'll love this album--he really kicks butt on it, even if the shredding is reined in for the most part. If you're looking for Cream II, you won't find it here, at least in most aspects. It was good to see Bruce and Baker together again, of course...what legends! It's too bad their greatness has somewhat faded from the public eye more so than that of Clapton, who obviously has enjoyed an enormously successful solo career since his heydey with Cream.

I'm sure anyone reading this review is aware that the original Cream did reunite for a few concerts in 2005 or 2006 and that a CD and DVD that document the events are available, so I do recommend those, even if all the fire of the original Cream was not fully ignited in those concerts. Still, an enjoyable listening/viewing pleasure and a thrill to see the original 3 guys allowing the chance for those too young to see them perform back in the day to witness at least a glimpse of what it was like! :-)

Anyway, BBM is indeed a fine album--great songs, great musicianship--too bad the grunge craze of the early to mid nineties probably buried this effort somewhat back in 1994 when it was released. Good quality blues rock is NEVER out of style in my book, so buy this CD and spread the word!!

If you like Cream?, this is a modern day must have. Yeah Eric's not there, but Gary is as good if you ask me and the entire cd rocks!

The CD kicks off with a tune with a feel and vibe to it that's right out of the 60's. Where in the world is an awesome tune and Can't fool the blues totally kicks ass. A h hell, the entire thing rocks!!

Pick it up and enjoy good solid rock & roll at it's finest.

This CD is a one off ripper. Gary Moore plays wild aggressive guitar like Eric Clapton used to on the live Cream albums way back. This is a great mix of Rock, Blues and a couple of ballad type tunes. Sounds a lot like the old cream with Eric on steroids or viagra. You get Jack Bruce in fine form on voice & bass (as usual) Ginger doing all the right stuff on the skins and as I have said some hot Gary Moore on guitar and vocals. I really like this because the recording quality is so much better than even the Cream Remasters (whoever did those should hand back their fee, they still sound as terrible as my old LP's, in fact on my Linn turntable with moving coil they sound better than the new "remasters"). This is a great CD of music by guys that can really play and have done so for so many years. I you like Robin Trower, Paul Rodgers and the like, get this one.

I can't believe I didn't get this before. Never a big cream fan I guess cause they
were before my time but I've been a Gary Moore fan forever. I heard of this but it
somehow passed me by. Too bad. This is unbelievable great! How this was not a huge
album? Music biz blows! I agree with what most said in the reviews it's just a great
album all the way thru. I can't stop listening to it. The first three songs are the
best with that Cream sound & Moore's guitar playing is as always incredible. How he
didn't get the respect he deserved when alive is puzzling! I highly recommend this
for any rock/blues trio lover. Can't get a better album.

Gary Moore collaboration... alas !!! ...it has STILL NOT ARRIVED !!!!

twenty five years after cream disbanded we fianlly get a disc that finds one of the most powerful rhythm sections ever back together with a powerful guitarist. it hits and misses but in the end it pleases. a must for any cream or moore fan.
