This is definitely the best Senor Coconut album in years - clever mix of catchy lounge, Latin kitsch and electronica. Well worth picking up!

I have become a major Senor Coconut/Üwe Schmidt fan in recent years, ever since discovering his disk of brilliant Kraftwerk covers. The man may be a studio whiz and master of digital electronics, but he is no geek. Üwe Schmidt is an supremely talented musician, with real soul and, equal to his musicianship, a sly sense of humor. So many stage names, such great titles: "Sounds like Preset Rhythm," "All Notes On," "Son of a Glitch."
This record is a joy. It features loving, swinging Latin-style covers of several well-known US/English pop songs (Prince, Eurythimics, Trio, etc.) but when the band kicks into the famous Latin dance tune "Que Rico El Mambo," you know they are the real thing. Schmidt calls it Electrolatino, but this is truly great music.

ever since I heard the kraftwerk tribute album, I have been hooked on Senor Cocounts sound. A German in Chile that makes music as unique as this deserves even more attention. Around the World is stunning !

An absolutely fantastic assortment of kitschy, campy, spacy, spicy and saucy songs, cool covers and devilish danse-macabre music that gets better with repeated listenings. Rhumbas, cha cha's, salsas, mambos, meringues and boleros clash, collide and morph into hybrids with techno flavors added as punch. It's like Cal Tjader and Ricky Riccardo had a dance party at George Jetson's space age bachelor pad... Latin lounge muzak meets the Rat Pack at Tito Puentes for cocktails...

This is standard fare for Atom, and his orchestral hijinks are in fine form. He takes hits from varied genres and remakes them in danceable latin style. "Sweet dreams are made of these..." cha cha cha. Great sense of humor and mix of classic latin with samples and electronics. This is another of his works that has great depth, revealing more with each listening. Definitely not available at your local CD store.

They're covers - but refreshing; and a few are better than the originals.,

Far from being "just another remix album by some dude with too much time on his hands", there's a level of thought and humour rarely found when considering track selection and execution on this album. I'll certainly be looking for more albums from Sr. Coconut.

Okey first of all I wanna say Im a big fan of Senor Coconut work I just love this guys "Aciton" and the Remixes and Cumbias are also great, now this is the big "BUT" Im also a big fan of El Senor Perez Prado [El Rey del Mambo] and Tito Puente [El Rey del Timbal] and I just can't get it, can you make some more beats without stealing others peoples music, com' on "Que Rico El Mambo?" is this yours or WHAT?, almost every mambo song has loops or samples from this Kings now i don't wanna sound like a hater but there is a lot of people out there doing this and Im just tired of it, the first albums I was like okey this sounds pretty good but after repeating this over and over I have to say something, Senor Coconut you are letting me Down ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !.
