Editorial Reviews

Review

1998 "The book covers most aspects of ARVC/D by the experts, and would be of interest to pediatric cardiologists, adult cardiologists, cardiac electrophysiologists, cardiac pathologists and cardiac surgeons." -- Mansour Al-Nozha, FRCP, Annals of Saudi Medicine Vol. 18/5

December 1998 This is a wonderful review of complex disorder, limited mainly but not exclusively to the adult. This book emanated from a conference held in Paris in 1996. The editors, through their chosen authors, review all aspects of this disorder. The book is divided into six sections: Clinical aspects, pathology, etiopathogenesis, diagnostic criteria, therapy, and peculiarities. All aspects are discussed in detail, and most of the accompanying figures are both excellent and relevant...Chapters are outstanding, including those addressing sudden death, morbid anatomy, pathobiology, insight into molecular genetics, and diagnostic criteria...Individual chapters are well referenced and reasonably up-to-date. The index is comprehensive. This book is expensive, but it provides a wonderful database for clinicians and pathologists who treat patients having arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy-dysplasia. -- Robert M. Freedom MD, FRCPC, FACC, Annal/Annales: The Royal College of Physians and Susrgens of Canada

1.0 out of 5 stars Helpful? Too costly to find out for the average person!, June 1, 2000
This review is from: Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy/Dysplasia (Hardcover)
I have researched this ARVD website in hopes of gaining insight, information and answers to this heart disease that I have been diagnosed with, however, with the price being this outrageous....well, I guess I'll have to rely on a library or my misguided physicians!

By A Customer
This review is from: Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy/Dysplasia (Hardcover)
for being the ONLY book on this subject it's a bit much to ask for over $200 dollars. my nephews have just been diagnosed and i cant afford the info! if it is to be a teaching tool-make it accessible.

As the only book written on this subject, this is truly the ultimate resource for patients and doctors. It contains writings and findings from the world's most dedicated and talented researchers of ARVD. The photographs are exceptional and the gentic exploration is especially interesting.
