This review is from: Arriaga, The Forgotten Genius: The Short Life Of A Basque Composer (Basque Studies Program Occasional Papers) (Hardcover)
The classical music world needs a book about Arriaga... he truly is a forgotten genius. So in that respect, this book is most welcome. The book is, unfortunately, quite short. In fact, it's shorter and contains considerably less information than the magazine articles about Arriaga that were published in "Scherzo" (a Spanish music magazine) in January of 2006. So if you want more information about Arriaga than you find in this book, that issue of "Scherzo" could fill in some holes for you. That having been said, there IS some information about Arriaga in this book that was also not in the "Scherzo" articles. |
