5.0 out of 5 stars Great Headphones
I just received my pair of Arriva Headphones and immediately put them to use. I was a little nervous with all the instructions they come with (after all, they are just headphones), but I had no trouble getting them quickly fitted to my head and ears. I know some have problems with the sound, but I think they sound fine. (Note: I'm no sound expert.) I will say the...

I bought these hoping I might have finally found a pair of headphones that works well for running. Most fall out, don't handle sweat well, aren't comfortable, break quickly, often all four.

I read several reviews saying that it takes some time to get used to these, but that once you figured out how to get them to stay on they would be great. I've used them for about 10 runs now, and am giving up. I followed the instructions, re-read them several times, but I just cannot keep them on. They stay on for about 10 minutes, until I start sweating even a little. Then they pop right out. And once they start popping out, they keep popping out. By 15 minutes into my run I pretty much have to hold my hand to my head to get them to stay in.

On the plus side, for the time that they do stay in I find the sound to be fine, and the fit to be comfortable. If I could get them to stay on I think they'd be great. Just that one detail...

Some notes about usage so you can compare to your situation. I use these on a treadmill, generally running in the 7.5-8min/mi pace, so bouncing around a bit. Although it doesn't seem to be the bouncing that causes the problem, it's the sweating. Once I start sweating even a bit they just slide right off of my ears.

So these are going on the shelf, and back to my search for a good pair of running headphones...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very good sound. Great idea, poor execution, February 26, 2007
This review is from: Arriva Sports Stereo Wired Headphones - Ipods / Mp3 Players and Phones (Electronics)
I've been searching high and low for some good (not great) headphones that will stay put when I run, and wouldn't break the bank. After purchasing and returning about a dozen different kinds, I saw an article on the Arriva, and figured I would give them a try.

The sound quality is horrible. Very tinny sounding, and they don't stay in very well (I tried the different sized ear fittings to no avail). I would say that this is definitely a 1.0 product.

I really wanted these things to solve my problem, but I'm out of luck, and out 30 bucks. I guess I'll have to spend $50+ in order to get something that I like.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so great!, September 16, 2007
This review is from: Arriva Sports Stereo Wired Headphones - Ipods / Mp3 Players and Phones (Electronics)
I bought these headphones hoping I could finally find a pair that would stay in my ears while I jog. These headphones don't completely fall out like the others I've had but they do not stay in the ears snuggly enough and they tend to slide out slightly so I end up constantly pushing them in while I jog. That's not the worse part, though. The worse part is that after just a few months, one side quit working altogether. I've written an email to the company but they only warranty the things for 30 days so I'm not holding out much hope. I paid $30 for these things and am very disappointed that they quit working so soon.

I just received my pair of Arriva Headphones and immediately put them to use. I was a little nervous with all the instructions they come with (after all, they are just headphones), but I had no trouble getting them quickly fitted to my head and ears. I know some have problems with the sound, but I think they sound fine. (Note: I'm no sound expert.) I will say the sound seems to have a "live" sound to it, with a bit of added bass. But I love a lot of bass, so it's not a complaint. They are a $30 pair of headphones, so I'm certainly not expecting the same sound quality from a $200 pair. A really big plus is that they fit in my ears so well that I can't hear myself sing...this is a very good thing! They stay very well put. I run in a pony tail, and these headphones aren't even noticeable on the back of my head. I've been searching for a while now for a pair of headphones that are inexpensive, stay put, and sound good. I've found all of the qualities in the Arrivas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable Headphones that Won't Come Loose, February 6, 2007
This review is from: Arriva Sports Stereo Wired Headphones - Ipods / Mp3 Players and Phones (Electronics)
The Arriva headphones are very comfortable, especially for something in this price range, and fit snuggly so you'll probably never have to worry about them falling out accidently. They do take slightly longer than your average headphones to put on, especially right after you get them when you're still adjusting the fit, but it's no big deal.
Sound quality and volume are good overall although the bass can sound a bit muffled at times.
To conclude, these are very good headphones for the price and great for sports and other high movement activities.

I am training for a marathon and have bought five different headsets over the past four months, as well as digging out several that I already had, trying to find a set that would stay in and be comfortable. I was tired of always having to push them back on to my ear as they steadily worked their way off over the miles. This included a variety of sport headsets that had hooks over the ear, that went into the ear canal and even the Sony one that has a clip that goes all around the ear.

I just got these yesterday and have come back after running 24 miles and I never touched them once. They were comfortable and efficient.

I like music and listen to a wide mix when running: rock, folk, classical as well as podcasts. I am not an audiophile, so differ from some of the other reviewers, but I was perfectly happy with the sound quality and felt they were every bit as good as earbuds that I have that cost 5X the price of these.

So if you are thinking of these but are put off by some of the other reviews, then do try them, you may agree with me and if you do a sport that makes it hard to keep earbuds in your ear, then this is definitely the best solution I have come across in six months of trying.

Maybe these look a little hokey or goofy upon first glance, but they're truly great headphones. These headphones should fit most everyone (I'd say 80% of people) unless they are exceptionally small or exceptionally large. The headphones are sent with 3 sets of rubber ear coverings, so they fit an ear canal of almost any size. Noise reduction is fair, but you pay for what you get (I didn't expect the same as I do from my $300 Bose Quiet Comforts, obviously).

What I loved about these was that the cord is in the back of your head! No more swinging cord in your face to get in the way of your cardio workouts on the treadmill, stepper, or elliptical. I often would get my swinging arms caught in the cords, and be frustrated. Also, the webbing is adjustable for an optimal fit. Noise reduction, great adjustable fit, and rear cord all make for an excellent, bang-for-your-buck product. I can't recommend them enough!

These really look as though they'd help keep the ear buds from falling out - but it's actually quite the opposite - the silicone plugs are slick and the moment you begin to exercise and sweat a little they fall out.

1.0 out of 5 stars The photo of these says it all..., September 6, 2008
This review is from: Arriva Sports Stereo Wired Headphones - Ipods / Mp3 Players and Phones (Electronics)
Look closely at the photo for this product... the headphones have no shape to them... Each side has a mind of it's own. Impossible to adjust for a proper fit... again, you can see this by just looking at the photo of the product...

The plastic around the ear is very uncomfortable. The headphone piece pops out of your ear. And if by some miracle, you do get them right... store them in a glass case... Drop them on the seat and they will lose what little shaping you achieved...
