So for now, please forgive the short review and just know that Archer is still the AWESOME show it has been, completely different and completely insanely amazing!

Great show but Amazon seriously do something about those ads. Otherwise I love to watch all the episodes but it would be nice if they didn't fall all the time

I absolutely love Archer ***** 5 stars no question.
I despise paying money to be advertised to.

I will certainly look for a way download future episodes from another source, not from amazon. Ads make me want to pirate content without ads. Amazon, I want to pay, I have the money, don't make me pirate.

I paid good money for this video, I did not pay good money to watch an advertisement at the beginning. This isn't cable.

Cancelling due to ads, get with it amazon, or we will get with another provider. Sooner or later someone else will come along and provide the content we want at an appropriate price.

While it may seem petty, its a slipper slope for ads. The more we let companies put ads and marketing in the content we PAY for the more it will happen. So upon seeing the advertisements in this seasons episodes I cancelled my TV pass.

I love Archer - this season is no exception. I enjoyed season 5 so much that I decided to go ahead and buy this season just after it became available even I'd already seen the show as it was broadcast. When the first episode started, there was one ad. I thought that was a little weird. After the episode, I found about 2+ minutes of commercials for FX shows. I guess I've gotten spoiled by having no commercials when I buy content? I understand the need for commercials during a broadcast to help cover costs, however - I just paid $30+ for this season. I feel that premium price should give me a commercial-free product. If there was some sort of 'warning' or notice that these versions were not commercial free, I suppose that would help. Then again, that would probably discourage buyers, so I guess that's the reason there isn't any.

Even so, I can't give this product from Amazon anything higher than 2 stars. (The show itself is a solid 5!)

15 seconds of commercials before every episode and at least 2 minutes after each. I didn't expect to get the cable experience after paying full price, and will be careful not to make the same mistake again.

If you love Archer, buy it elsewhere.

Compared to prior seasons, it's either taking its sweet time to get into its groove (it's up to episode five at the time I write this), or it's just not of the same calibre as the prior seasons. To me it's still worth watching, at least so far and on otherwise idle nights, but if you were already on the fence about previous seasons, this might be the time to retire from the show.

To be more specific, this new season has revamped the characters somewhat, changing what was a solid formula of character chemistry into something a little [too] discordant, and retired a whole slew of recurring jokes (e.g. "phrasing") in favour of either nothing at all, or awkward replacements (e.g. the meta "are we not doing phrasing?" in the aforementioned case). There's also heavy self-indulgence in the new drug themes, which I find not nearly as attractive or humorous as the original spy themes. Granted it's only five episodes in, but none of these five have come remotely close to being memorable in the way some earlier ones were - especially in the first season.
