Book Description

August 28, 2002
With his 1970's blockbuster Chariots of the Gods, Erich von Däniken challenged the scientific community to open their minds to new possibilities: "Suppose the ancient supernatural beings of traditional religions are no mere figments of mythological imagination, but are arrivals from outside our planet. Now, the world-famous author continues his controversial research into extraterrestrial visitation. Von Däniken's latest offering draws on mountains of new evidence of unexplained phenomena, from UFO sightings and alleged abductions to archaeological discoveries of unearthly-looking beings, as well as research on human genetics that casts light on our origins outside the solar system. Armed with a collection of color photos, charts, and illustrations, Von Däniken re-examines ancient texts and cave drawings of strange beasts with no known counterparts of the times, to support his theory that they could have been created by aliens, and to form an audacious conclusion: "We are much on the minds of other life-forms in the universe."

Amazon.com Review

Erich Von Daniken, author of Chariots of the Gods? and well known for his theories on alien visitation and influence throughout human development, takes up the mantle of controversy once more, this time interpreting the sacred texts of both Eastern and Western religions. Von Daniken has consistently amazed me with both the audacity of his theories and the well-argued evidence with which he supports them, and he's done it again with The Return of the Gods. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eye & Mind Opening, July 4, 1999
By A Customer
I recently read Gods of the New Millenium, which i felt was the ultimate read regarding this subject, until i read The Return of the Gods. This book not only stirred new thought but a feeling of truth from within. I am well versed with the Bible and simular literature but never have i been impelled to voice my opinions regarding this whole subject until i read The Return of the Gods. At last a read that makes sense. I have never read a fictional book and i am still under that impression. The Bible / Koran / Etc have become bad cases of Chinese Whispers, they have waited a long time for a truely believable explanation. When one reads and beleives what they read not just on an intellectual basis, but from an almost DNA perspective then the truth is not far behind. An excellent read, with a justifiable explanation.
