Book Description

August 14, 2001
A drawn book (or graphic novel) set in an alternate near-future where the current human civilization and democratic values are threatened by a combination of events including deadly pandemics, ethnic strife and the collapse of North American society. Piracy and slavery are back with a vengeance. Humanity is looking down the abyss of a new Dark Age. Then, 'magic' returns to the earth, in a most unusual vehicle - 'vehicle' being the operative term here! Back during the 1950's, a clandestine group infiltrated Avro Canada's Arrow project and filtered 'high-mana' materials into the production process. When that endeavor met its (historically true) sad end, one Arrow was spirited away from the scrappers and stowed away in extradimensional stasis. Five decades later, it is restored to the world with its latent 'mana' potential fully initialized, giving it independence of fuel, maintenance or facilities, invisibility from heat or radar detection, autonomy of action and complete sentience. When united with a young woman of a lineage blood-bonded to the aircraft, all the earth's kinetic energy becomes theirs for the taking, as long as the human half of the equation holds out. Now, what are they going to do in a meaner, more fascistic world where Canada and the U.S. no longer exist? (This is a compilation of a limited series previously published from 1992-1994)
