5.0 out of 5 stars another opinion
I've almost quit reading reviews because of the wide variance in people's opinions, but I couldn't help putting in my two cents on this cookie mix. My 8-year-old daughter, who is an EXTREMELY picky eater, loves them-she wants to make them all the time. My husband even thinks they're great, and he eats any and everything. I also like the fact that most of the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Dry Unfortunately
My husband picked up overstock of these boxes of chocolate chip Arrowhead Mills cookies at the Canned Food Outlet nearby. They were a fantastic deal, and still a year out from their pull date. Though my daughter doesn't seem to mind them as much as we do, they are overly sweet, sandy, and very dry and crumbly. I will not be buying them again and am very unhappy to have...

I also like the fact that most of the ingredients are organic, which isn't the case with the Pamela's mixes.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good gluten free alternative, February 17, 2011
By
This review is from: Arrowhead Mills Wheat-Free Cookie Mix, Chocolate Chip, 12.9-Ounce Units (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
These cookies not only have a great taste, but a great texture to match. They were very simple to make, and the "dough" will stick together quite well in order to make the balls of cookies. Once the cookies are done, they are somewhat fragile but held together enough for all intents and purposes. Not sure why these are so expensive on amazon though, I get them in the store for about $5 a box.

Best with added walnuts. A little hard to mix, I put on rubber gloves to get it mixed thoroughly

5.0 out of 5 stars Best GF Choc Chip Cookies on the market!, March 31, 2009
By
This review is from: Arrowhead Mills Wheat-Free Cookie Mix, Chocolate Chip, 12.9-Ounce Units (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
These Arrowhead Mills GF cookies are the most comparable to "regular" choc chip cookies. They come out of the oven warm and soft and taste great! If you need to avoid gluten and haven't tried these cookies, you better. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Out of all of the gluten-free cookies that I've tried these are my favorite. I put in a soy-based butter-alternative and add a little extra to make them very moist.
I'd give it more stars if the product was somehow healthier.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Dry Unfortunately, December 8, 2008

Though my daughter doesn't seem to mind them as much as we do, they are overly sweet, sandy, and very dry and crumbly. I will not be buying them again and am very unhappy to have 10 boxes left!

HOWEVER: Arrowhead does make a fantastically soft and gooey luxurious brownie mix that kids gulp down and consume like no other brownies I have ever baked. I highly recommend that product instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy!, November 20, 2008

This review is from: Arrowhead Mills Wheat-Free Cookie Mix, Chocolate Chip, 12.9-Ounce Units (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
My kids and I tried this mix for the first time today. All of them loved the cookies--they are the closest we have tasted to wheat based choco chip cookies. They have the right balance between crispy and chewy, are packed with chocolate chips and did not have a gritty taste.

The cooked result was too gritty. Skip these and buy Pamela's Chunky Chocolate chip cookies. You can eat them right out of the box and they taste good.
