Editorial Reviews

Arsenal are about to play the Trojans, the premier Amateur Team of England. However, Doyce, the Trojans' star player, is nowhere to be found. Five minutes before the end of the first half, he arrives, but then collapses and dies. The Police Inspector arrives to find that Doyce has been poisoned. As the investigation continues, it becomes clear that many of the players had motives for killing Doyce, and that he himself was far from innocent.

3.0 out of 5 stars Strangely Good.... May 9, 2012
... if rather wooden 1930s' B Movie about the team of the day. Bloke drops down dead in the middle of a football game and it gets called off. Wouldn't happen now would it?! But its a murder not a heart attack. Investigation ensues with a Scotland Yard detective more concerned with the 'ballet' he's is trying to put on with a load of big coppers. Dreadfull plot but good period shots - probably one for Arsenal fans who miss the old Highbury.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun for old Arsenal fans... September 7, 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
OK mystery, if you love Premier League soccer and old-time Arsenal it's a LOT better. Mystery is weak, comedy is limited.

4.0 out of 5 stars Five stars for Gooners, three stars for others June 16, 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Fun for Arsenal Addicts. Well-enough acted (the Arsenal Manager was surprisingly good), and provides some nice vintage football footage. As mystery stories go, pretty average. Alas, I couldn't convince my spouse or Liverpool-supporting son to watch it with me. Gooners, this one is for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Movie! February 16, 2013

This is a classic film! Any fan of soccer would enjoy it. A great mystery, some fun soccer scenes from long ago past, and enjoyable characters. Even if you aren't an Arsenal fan, you'll like this.
